SO here come so more crap from the White House. Now I do want the government to do something about the oil and gas prices but this is just not it! I mean the White House wants us to spend millions of dollars of our tax payers money to basically create more watch dogs to stare at the oil companies while they rape us at the pumps. I want to know why the groups and agencies already in place to do these jobs aren't doing it for one thing and why the White House isn't making them do their jobs? The last thing this nation needs is more money spent so that they can turn around and tax us more. Let us use some more of our own oil and bring the prices down while helping to create more jobs which we greatly need in this country! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/17/obama-oil-market-manipulation_n_1430890.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk3&pLid=152698&ref=fb&src=sp&comm_ref=false

You know, one of the stupid things about gas prices is that the government taxes us at a pretty high rate. States tax gasoline and the Federal government taxes gasoline and that's just at the pump. They tax the production of it several times before it even gets to the pump. All of that money they talk about going to the oil companies never gets to them, or if it does, the companies have to pay for leases and licenses and really dumb things to comply with rules made up by people who have never even seen crude oil much less worked with it. Sorry... got carried away. I just get tired of seeing the oil industry blamed for everything, like they blamed Wall Street or the banks for everything.

http://www.commonsensejunction.com/notes/gas-tax-rate.html this will make you even MORE mad: http://www.commonsensejunction.com/notes/gas-prices-world.html People in VENEZUELA pay .12 cents a gallon, granted this is four years ago, wonder what they are now? If anyone finds the answer, please post it.

You're right; it infuriates me. Talking out of both sides of their faces at one time seems to be the requirement for politicians in this country. Subsidized!

http://energytomorrow.org/economy/taxes?gclid=CNbThImMva8CFcsAQAodtQGExw#/type/all America’s oil and natural gas industry supports 9.2 million jobs and 7.7 percent of our nation’s GDP. The industry provides higher-than-average wages and helps ensure our nation’s energy security. In the process, the industry generates tax revenues that contribute billions of dollars every year to federal, state and local government. As a tremendous source of revenue that fuels the U.S. economy, major energy producers pay their fair share: the oil and natural gas industry pays income taxes, royalties and other fees totaling nearly $86 million every day. The industry also pays the federal government significant rents, royalties and lease payments for production—totaling more than $100 billion since 2000. Here is what makes me REAL MAD: http://energytomorrow.org/blog/working-through-the-tax-hike-spin/#/type/all Subsidies/taxpayer money giveaways – This is inaccurate, and it matters. The oil and natural gas industry receives zero targeted subsidies from government, period. It uses tax deductions generally available to U.S. business. A deduction is not a subsidy.

I think we should continue to spend money on cars so we can soon do totally without gas. Tax us more, no.

GM is now pretty much in the government's pocket. The auto workers union has controling interest. Research will most likely be directed at 'green alternatives'.

The president has all the tools available to him if he believes that the oil market is being manipulated," Boehner told reporters Tuesday. "Where's his Federal Trade Commission? Where is the SEC? He's got agencies there. So instead of just another political gimmick, why doesn't he put his administration to work to get to the bottom of it?"

Perhaps, these already in place bureaus won't do his bidding. So he will sign another executive order or circumvent the checks and balances, circumvent Congress and then accuse them of doing nothing, push aside those who oppose him, and just do as he damn well pleases to America.
