I have no religion at all but i have one friend he is Muslim. When i go out with him to have meals together, i always order beef or fish dishes for myself because i know that he can't eat pork then i don't want to eat pork in front of him. And more, this time i really don't enjoy with eating pork also.
One time, he told me: Ryan, you already ate pork, you cannot go to heaven anymore when you die...Huh? why? i have no religion at all then eating pork is normal to me, but why i can not go to the heaven after i die? I could ask him why, but at that time i kept silent...
Is it true? We can go to the heaven later when we die if we have religion only???

I have a Muslim friend who has eaten pork and he never has any issues with it going to heaven or not. It's actually in the bible in the book Leviticus, that pork is not allowed to be eaten by us. But, it doesn't say we can't go to heaven. Even if I have a religion, I still do eat pork our priests even eats pork. So they would also be unable to go to heaven then?

Surely he will also not go to heaven in that case.
If it's a sin for Muslims to eat pork, maybe they can confess it to their God and be forgiven by doing the deed. Anyway, each religion has it's beliefs so we only have to respect that no matter how we find it funny sometimes

I don't have the religion, too. In fact you don't eat the pork in front of your friend because you want to respect his religion. Sometimes I found the people who have religion don't really think about others who have another different religion or don't have the religion at all. If there was a heaven, then I thought good people could go there. It doesn't matter whether you have eaten pork or not. Because the heaven is for the good people rather than the people who are non-pork eaters.

ya, i didn't eat pork in font of my Muslim friend but i did eat pork before because i have no religion at all, then i can eat any type of food.
Based on what you said, i think i have enough condition to ascend to heaven later...
because i am a good person. I have no big sin at all.

Entry into the kingdom of God is not base on what you eat, it is much more complicated than that, by eating pork, you may not qualify to enter your friend's divine domain, but you still can enter heaven or even paradise no matter what you eat. Eating pork only disqualify your eligibility to enter into your friend's fantasy's land not heaven of God.

The way i see about Kingdom of God is that no one is allowed to enter no matter you eat pork, beef, cockroach, chicken, snake, fish or frog. As a mortal, you only can enter Paradise or Hell or continue to stay on earth eating your pork as your body is well nourished to live for hundred of years. Unless you believe your muslim friend is God, then i suggest you better stop eating pork immediately before he ban your entry into heaven forever once he get angry. If not, you may want to find other friend that can accept you as who you are rather than judge you by what you eat or what religion you believe. Just be careful, my friend!!

God so fairly, all people will go to taste the heaven for every goodness they have made.
When their goodness deposit reach the limit, they will enter the hell.
Just my though, cause only God who know about it.
Sometime, people got mistake for translating the Qur'an.
I am a muslim and that was my opinion.
Wallahu'alam.

I give you an example, try to figure it out by yourself.
You get an exam with 10 question, if your answer correct you get 10 but if you fault you get -10.
Like I have said before, there is something forbiden to be done. If you do this, it will decrease your goodness.

@Devilova: Sometimes, people don't read the Qur'an carefully as well.
Even people with so many sins can still enter the heaven if they do the taubat.

You can't not have a religion. You're religion is your beliefs about morality and the paranormal. You can have a vague religion but you can't no religion.
As others have stated, I don't think anybody can say who will go to heaven or not, except God, but sometimes we have strong suspicions.
Why do people feel that they need to be so careful not to offend Muslims? They don't care as much about not offending followers of other religions.
Perhaps you should ask your Muslim friends if it's right to marry a six year old, like Mohammad did.

In fact i have no religion at all. I know a bit about Buddhist, Muslim, Christians...via my friends only and i greatly respect religions, it is so interesting.
Ya, i heard you guys in here told that also: God is a person who decides you can go to heaven or not, not you at all.
i think my friend maybe wrong when he said like that..

RandyPatric, what Bible are you reading? Levi 11:7 "while the pig is unclean for you, because, although it has a separate and completely divided hoof, it doesn't chew the cud." Can't get much clearer than that!
ryanong, your Muslim friend seems rather inconsistent with how he follows Islam.

@Randy: Dear Randy, chill out my friend.
See my nickname and I'm a Muslim. And you can read my comment below.
I agree with you for not starting the war but I have to make you understand that Ryan's friend doesn't read the Book carefully. It is he that has the false understanding. People like him, who has this kind of false understanding that can start this religion war. I don't like that either.
I'm not a religious person, I used to eat pork as well before I start to learn my religion deeply. I live in a family with multiple religions (my uncle and aunt are Christians, my grandparents from my dad are Buddhist). So difference are okay with me. My dad used to read carefully the reasons why we are, as Muslims, not allowed or allowed to do things and he used this knowledge to explain to my grandmother to make her understand why we won't eat pork anymore. And she understands it well.
So even if you eat this biggest pork chop sandwich with hot sauce right in front of my face, I would only say "go for it, man!"

Honestly i really don't know much about religion till i meet my Muslim friends. Then i know about God, heaven...
When he told me like that, i was sad a bit..because if he is right, then it is not fair at all since i am a good person (many people said that). I don't pray God everyday but i believe God bless me too...

@Djbtol: Please my friend, don't judge people too quickly. It's God we're talking about, and even not only Muslims will be offended by such words. And I'm a Muslim. I have to admit that Ryan's Muslim friend does not read our Holy Book carefully nor he learns about it carefully. I have to say sorry for his behalf, but please don't say anything about God is a pig. For any other religions as well. I respect people's faith or choice for their lives, but it is not our decision to judge others' faith as well.
If you assume God is a pig, then what are you? A pig as well?
Because I believe there is only one God. Just like there is only one Rome. It is our decisions to take the way to Rome, either you fly or swim or walk, or take the bus or train. That's just the same, it is our decisions to take our ways to heaven as well. God bless, my friend.

I agree with you. I am Christian so I do believe that a sinner can find a place beside God. I grew up not by religion but buy faith. I do not always go to church as I do not want to be influenced by man but I only want to learn from what God shows me. I am not perfect but through Christ I believe I am saved. I have always believed in loving everyone even my enemy's for it is not my place to judge. I may not like or even approve a persons actions or choices, however; I do have to love the person as if they are my family. Living by this makes it easier for me to accept people for who they are not by what they do.

When I mentioned diet in relation to religion, I did not mean that anyone needed to lose weight. I referring to restrictions placed on people because of their religion. Muslims are not the only ones who can't eat pork. It is forbidden for orthodox Jews, also. In fact, their meat has to be slaughtered in a certain way top be kosher (allowed). Many Catholics still eat only fish on Fridays. What I meant to say is that denying yourself certain foods is only a small part of religion. Jesus said that the most important commandment is to love God with your whole being and the second one is like unto it: to love one's neighbor as yourself.
Ask your friend if his god is a forgiving god.

iam moslem ryanong..
it is HARAM..it means that we get sin..
the sinner people can find a place beside God, as long as he did not do an action called MUSYRIK or SYIRIK (in our religion opinion)
what is MUSYRIk or SYIRIK??
if they admit that there are another God beside one God (in our religion opinion) and admit that there are another prophet after Mohammad....

1. Do not eat pork is showing respect to Buddhism
2. Do not eat blood or recieve blood from blood bank is to show respect to Jehovah's witnesses
3. Do not eat meat when its Good Friday is showing respect to Roman Catholic
4. And do not eat anything at all if its Ramadan is showing respect to Muslim
To follow all these numbers from 1 to 4 will Gods out there will surely understand.

In the bible records God allowed the eating of meats including pork after the flood in Noah's day. Only the blood in it was ordered not to eat but there is nowhere in the bible we can read that eating of meat or pork was forbidden.
Another thing, humans are to live here on earth. No humans can ascend to heaven since the heaven is a place where spirits creatures do belong. There are only limited number of persons who will ascend to heaven and will totally transform themselves from human body to spiritual ones.
I know we have differences in belief but I respect everyone's beliefs here.

jobfindonline, you haven't got your facts right. Levi 11 and Deut 14 give laws about what food can be eaten and pork is excluded: http://www.hoshanarabbah.org/food.html.
The thing about there only being a certain number (144,000) of places in heaven comes from the Jehovah's Witnesses who are heretics. It's generally accepted by Christians that all Christians will go to heaven and all those who reject the gospel will go to hell. What happens to people who never hear the gospel is less clear. There are also complications for those who are still alive when Jesus returns or the rapture happens (I don't believe in the rapture). The Biblical basis for this is complicated.

Well, to him, this is the Muslim religion and the way he feels and has been brought up, as there are other people out there who believe other ways, but to say someone who has ever ate Pork cannot go to heaven, to me is like how can we know if you can go to heaven or not until you die, and no food out there is going to help make that decision and the way you have been here while on this earth.

Do you have religion?

If he is correct , then there are many a Christian that is going to be Pi$$ed! No what he should have said , if you are a Muslim , eating pork would prevent you from getting into heaven. As a non believer you can eat what you want! In my religion pork is a no no too but many Reformed Jews Do eat pork. Let those devout call me a heathen but I think as long as you are as good as you can be, as kind and understanding as you can be , you will get to heaven.

I don't understand how anyone can be so SURE that someone will or will not go to heaven. I think no one know for sure what will happen at the end when your time in this life is up. You may see someone who seems to do nothing but good all the time, but he still may not go to heaven straight away if he ends up doing something that will prevent him from going to heaven at the very last second of his life. On the other hand, someone like your friend thinks you will not go to heaven; how does he know that for sure? He forgets that there is something beyond his control that somehow may guide someone to the path of heaven.

I understand your sharing. Maybe my friend is religious person so that in his mind if anyone who ate pork can not ascend to heaven later. I don't know at all, with him eating pork is a sin based on his religion but with me, eat pork is normal because i have no religion at all.
However, i heard that a good people can ascend to heaven..then i think i may ascend to heaven later....because i am the good person...
