The Babysitter let her boyfriend put the baby in the washer, and lied to the mom

I just watched the follow up interview on Yahoo, about the little boy who was put into the washer machine at the laundry mat. The boy was with the babysitter, and she watched her boyfriend put the little boy in the washer. She returned the little boy to the mother and told her that her son fell in the park and that's why he was all bruised up and injured. The police say they won't file charges because there was no mal-intent, but i think this behavior was completely negligent. The mother wants blood and I'm right with her. Someone please tell me this didn't just happen and these people are going to get away with it. Has anyone ever had an incident like this with their babysitter, what did you do about it?

I thought it was the father who put the child in the drer till I saw the news last night. There is nothing that can be done as it was a joke and it could have gone wrong yes. But,if they did not mean to hurt him what can they do. I hate that the child was hurt like this as well.

This was a crime, and after re watching the video and seeing the total disregard the babysitter treated the situation, it is pure negligence on her part, and since the child was injured I'd say a crime has been committed.

If we accept that every wrongdoing has a reasonable cause (such as that they did not "mean" to harm the baby), I think we should stop placing murderers in jail as probably none of them "meant any harm". A person old enough as to be a baby sitter, old enough as to have a boy friend, must surely know what happens to clothes. let alone a baby in a washing machine.

It's ridiculous, but the mother said she wasn't letting it go. She said she would file charges because too her knowledge her child wasn't supposed to be around the man who placed him in a washer, and she never said it was okay for her babysitter to let someone put her child in the washer.

Imagine if there is no security camera that captured the incident, the babysitter may got away with her lies... I agree with you that it's completely negligent. There definitely should be charges against them; child endangerment, at the very least? With all that the footage shows and those other people around who saw the incident, I would be so mad if somehow they get away with it...

Yes, big brother was looking out for that boy on that day. That is another fact that irritates me, that the babysitter would boldly lie to the mother about the incident. I think that act itself should be considered criminal.

Yes. I can imagine the betrayal the mother felt.

Stupid babysitter. If she has just a bit of sense, she would not just stand there folding her laundry and laughing while the boyfriend put the kid inside the washer. Lying about it just adds to her list of stupidity...

I have not seen the video and don't want to! I did heard some idiot thought this was hilarious so they posted it on line! What the heck is so funny about putting a baby in a washer? You tell me! That person should be ashamed of themselves! Something is wrong with someone when they think seeing a baby put in washer is funny! I hope the baby's mom sues the crap out of the babysitter and her boyfriend! What happened was disgusting and abuse! If there was not an attendent at the laundrymat, there would be murder charges filed agaisnt the babysitter and boyfriend!

You are absolutely right. Things could have been a lot worse, that little boy spent five minutes rolling around in a washer machine full of water. He could have broken his kneck, he could have suffered brain damage, at the very least he will develop a severe case of clausterphobia which will stay with him for life.

Getting a trusted babysitter is a big problem. That babysitter in the story should be banned from doing the job. She is obviously dangerous.

Trust me after this incident, I doubt there will be any person trusting their kids with this person again.

Haven't read about the news on yahoo yet. ANd I agree that this must not be done to the boy whether they did not mean to hurt the kid... since he was hurt and they lied to the baby's mom - I think both the babysitter and her boyfriend must be taught a lesson so they'll never do that again to another kid.

You can tell they knew they were on camera too, considering they ran out without their clothing.

I don't understand how putting a kid in a washer can't be counted as mal-intent. The mother of that child should sue them so that they can at least understand that they did something wrong.

I'm afraid law suits against people with no money don't do much good. She really has to put pressure on the police to place criminal charges against these people, because no one should act so cavalier about a child being placed in a washer. I'm wondering if others at the laundry mat saw this happening and didn't say something.
