"Happiness is only real when shared." This quote was from the movie Into The Wild and I've been thinking about this recently. I think it's quite true. There was a time in my life when I was very solitaire and wasn't social but after opening up a bit, I can really relate to this. So how have you related to this quote?

Well, your quote: "Happiness is only real When shared.", In a sense is true. But from the moment a person is wrong in the midst of others around him, as one can speak of shared happiness?
Well this is my situation (I will not make you doubt the rhetoric about my personal problems!), To say that I'm usually good when I'm alone, the company, possibly even for my type of character is a sort of "disease" .
And it's bad, because in my case it is impossible for me to share my happiness with others!

It is totally right, we are happier when we can do share with the others. being alone is very bad and we can't have happiness in this life. Doing share, we can learn and move sadness out and get sympathy with the others.
I live alone now, but in fact i am not alone at all, friends, boyfriend, family...i always try to do share whenever i can.
I love this life...

because we are social and our realities are common, any sentimental feelings mean more positively if shared. i have not watched the movie, into the wild, but i could relate with the quote. i remember when i got the news of the scholarship, i immediately called my girlfriend to break the news and share the joy brought by it.

Hi lore
I think that sharing the happiness with the people who understand and appreciate is better and always helps in increasing the levels of happiness. I am all alone since Jan 2012 - and there isnt many whom I can share my happiness. Not that I am not happy, being alone or with someone doesnt have a say in finding happiness.
However, when it comes to sharing this happiness, there is my wife who is some place distant to me. I do share with her over the cell phone at times, but then, the effects would have been better if she was around.
I think the right answer for your query lies in - the people and their interests and also the presence - distance or close too plays a part

I'd say there is a whole nanother level of happiness if you share it with someone (even if you just tell them or actually live it through with them, or just write it in blog which everyone can see), it gives a plus. But if you feel happy just by yourself, for example, because you hear a good song or your fave film won an award or if you are good at your job, that's not less real. Judt maybe it could be more intense.
