Dear fellows Mylotters, right now, that while I'm writing this discussion, are exactly the hours 23.37. Almost time for me to go to bed. Do not miss the surprise, however, under my window, and particularly that of the bedroom, there are workers who are doing an excavation to pass something that I did not understand whether it is an electrical cable or a pipe orange rubber, for some work. When they have finished the installation, should asphalting the excavation, then finally "beat" with a special machine. The gimmick is very noisy, I have the impression that they will still be working for a another good hour. I succeed get to sleep or I might have to wait until the work is finally finished so I'll can sleep? In all the ways I begin to say good night to all Mylotters, in my own time zone.

Ugh! I hope you can get to sleep. They must work late at night there. Here, it's early in the morning. I have been awakened several times by big city trucks and clanging and banging as they do various things as soon as the sun comes up.

there is certain timing for strange things to happen in our world. when we least expect them, they occur. when we expect them to happen, they don't. the workers in your place must know that it is about time to sleep. they should respect other's time. otherwise, they do it the next day.

I agree that there are certain timing for these strange to happen. Sometimes it is funny, but for this particular incident, I would be very much pissed having to deal with it. They should have at least respect other people's right to rest.

Most of the worker in the city where I came from used to worked at night. For they are avoiding the traffic at day time. It is really annoying if there are workers at day time if your car is not moving because of them. That's why they preferred to work at night.

i'm sorry to hear that you are having difficulty in sleeping but isn't it late for someone to work in this time? i hope you already had a good night sleep. sometimes weird things do happen and even if we don't want to be a part of it we can't do anything.

Uh oh it must be really irritating that you have been disturbed with such noise at that time where you suppose to be resting and sleeping. I don't think I can sleep having such noise too going on around the house. It's either I have to stop them or wait until the work is done.

I do feel bad for you! I know how irritating it can be when you are tired and it is time for bed but there is too much noise going on to be able to get to sleep and stay asleep. Everywhere I have lived, things like that do not happen so late at night unless there is an extreme emergency, like a burst main water pipe, gas pipe or a break in a necessary electrical wire underground. If it is not an emergency, things like that which make a lot of noise to fix are put off until the next morning. I hope you were able to get to sleep soon after you wrote this discussion and didn't have to wait too long for quiet.

Here in the UK, roadworks often go on at night to minimise traffic disruption next day. They're not supposed to do it in residential areas - but they do.

Most road works are done during night time here in the city where I live to avoid traffic jam during the day. So, if someone lives near the service road- the noise would be unbearable or, get used to it and use some ear plug so one can sleep :p A building is under renovation here in front of my house as well- and the grinder sounds so good. Good thing they don't work overnight (duh)

I hope they won't last long, those noisy workers and whatever they've been doing so you'll soon be free from them. I think there must be a rule about project work hours? The city should respect its citizen's rights to get sleep/rest. Good luck .

Yeah, noisy road works are annoying. Why are they doing it at night? That is a residential zone? I am quite surprised, if ever you are in a residential zone, that such works are allowed and even during the night time when people are trying to get some sleep. Oh well, it is happening already in your place. You don't have any choice either but to try and sleep with all the noise around.

Those workers should have been very considerate with other people in the area who want to have a good night sleep already. Yes, they are just doing their job, but how about the people around them who needs rest. If I weer in that situation, I would be very pissed off.
