We start moving tomorrow.. but it will probably be Wednesday before we sleep in the new house. It can't be fast enough for me for sure.
It's so hot in my room. Every summer i burn up in here because there is no way to put a window air conditioning unit in the windows. Trying to force the windows open will just break the wood.. the windows are about 60 years old and they have been painted shut for years and years... there might even be some nail holding them shut.. I don't know.
Then there is the issue of the bathroom. Half the time it isn't working because of the high water table. We plunge and plunge and stuff doesn't go down. It's going down half way now... but not fast. I have to flush about 4 times to get clean water in the bowl.
Now the last thing that happened is the drier died on us. There is no way to dry our clothes.. so we are washing just what we need to wear and hang it up to dry. When we move there is a washer and dryer there.. I hope they work... no one has tested them.
Moving will give us a new start... hope it all falls into place for us... hope the washer and drier works. I might suggest that they try them to see if they work.

Moving, Ugh! I have moved more times than I can count, and most of the moves have been grueling in their own way. I feel for you and I'll be sending positive energy to you that all goes well. I hope that you're able to cool down in your new place, and that the laundry facilities work to your satisfaction. Please be careful in your move. Do you have far to move?

We have central air in the new house so we will be cooler. It's awful here. It's a 100 year old house and part of it is 60 years old. My room is 60 years old.. it was an addition.

It is a miserable thing to be hot and unable to get cool, especially for trying to sleep. I hope that your move is all you want it to be! :-)

Yeah I'm sure that you will be happy to be moving. We have experienced similar problems like yours. Our drains often get clogged up and no matter what we use to unclog it, it doesn't seem to work. So my husband is going to try some drain stuff with a snake. Our washer also isn't spinning all the water out at the end of the cycle so I have to wring out the clothes by hand and hang them on the line to dry them. That can really be a pain. I also hope that at your new house everything will work out good.

When will you be out by? Hope that time goes by fast and that you are able to get everything done like you would like too. It is nice when we move and the move is to a better place. We feel better then about the whole situation.

Hi PointlessQuestions, I agree that it is time that you moved out of that place as the conditions you describe are anything but good. I know that you are looking forward to your new home and I hope that you will be very happy there. It's just a few days now before you can put this all behind you. Blessings.

We just moved to the next town. We used to live there in Winder a few years back. It's called Winder. I moved from Bethlehem, GA. Yes, this house has central air and central heat for the winter. It is a great neighborhood.

Well my friend, you just need to keep thinking positive, and always hope for the Best. There are times I feel we are tested on things just to see how much we can handle. I am sure the New place will be better for you, and wishing you all the Best.

Yes there is much more room there. It's looking really good with our stuff in it. The LR furniture is so pretty in there. I'm in an awful lot of pain but it is starting to ease up.

You guys could carry some of the laundry over and do it while you are moving. That would give you a good idea about it. If the house has been vacant a while there may be tree roots in the water lines, so it should all be checked out before you need it. It sure sounds like it will be a great improvement for you.

Gosh, your power bills must be sky high. I always hang my clothes out to dry naturally. A drier is one of the highest consumers of power in a household if not the highest.
Your previous living conditions sound terrible and I can fully understand the move in fact, it's hard to understand how you lived there in the first place.
Hearing your story though makes me love and appreciate my own lovely home that much more.
Good luck to you.

We are about half moved now. Our beds and dressers and chests will go in the morning. Also my tv and DVD player. We have to come back and clean here. Then we will be taking days to settle into the new house. It is so beautiful.

I am sure moving out is another experience and hope everything works good in your new home
That would be a bit tiring too and will take days putting things on its proper places.
Enjoy and don't stress too much

Honestly, i hate to move because i have to do many things such as packing, call a taxi, arrange furniture in new place, etc...it is very tired. however, we can't avoid to move entire our life. We have to move at least 1-2 times in our life...
Many things you should care when you move to a new place, for sure. And it takes time for you to adapt with a new place too.
I hope everything will be fine in your case and you will be happy with a new place..

oh yes the joys of a high water level.
This past week I checked the actual weather in my hometown from work and immediately called my hubs to leave a message on the phone machine he should please check the badsement so its not flooded as there were heavy rains and even hail.
Hope you will enjoy the new home soon, sounds good and hope all the appliances work there too.

GL with the move! I know about plumbing woes all too well. Sadly we can't move so we have to repair things. A hot room in summer is indeed very unpleasant as we too have windows with the same problems as well. I like to sometimes day dream I'd make enough on my lot to pay for new ones *LOL* I'm such a day dreamer!

Well, I guess you are busy moving since here it is tomorrow. I would try using a fan in that room and keep it closed up so it doesn't get too hot. Open it up when it is cool and air it out as best you can and then close it up when it is hot again. I hate plumbing problems. Really sounds like you have a bad situation there. A nice new start is always such a nice feeling isn't it? Hope the washer and dryer works. You really should try stuff like that cause if it doesn't work you might be able to work that into the price. Or atleast get it fixed before you move in. Hope it all works out well for you. Happy days!

I am glad that you will be able to move soon. I know it is hard packing and unpacking. When Randy and I moved from Idaho to Nevada we did not have much time to get things organized. Now we have a storage bin and have been going through that and seeing what we can get rid of and what we can sell. I hope things will get better for you soon.
