My stepsister is graduating from high school. Today we are going to her graduation party. How do you celebrate graduation?

Well, one of my little nieces is going to be graduating from preschool next week and that I will be going to because she really wants me to come to it, but that is not really going to be a big deal for the family. However, when my siblings and myself graduated from high school, we would go out for dinner as a family after the ceremony. Then, the weekend following the actual graduation, we would have an open house and invite all of our family and friends to come and celebrate with us.

Well, since I was never able to have any children myself, and do not live close enough to any family and been invited to their graduations, it has been quite a while. It was actually 30 yrs. ago today 5/28/1982 that I graduated from High School but can remember a celebration of sorts. Being able to make something special for the Graduate is a Good thing, and usually helps make some lasting memories for them as well.

I will be going to my niece Ingrid's grade school graduation sometime this summer. I don't know when yet but her parents (her dad is my brother) plan one out I will be invited. In my family graduation parties always means a family get together. It also meeans plenty of food,a special cake and even games played ouside.

We usually celebrate graduation by going out for dinner right after the ceremony which usually ends late afternoon or just in time for dinner. We also have a big party at home for the rest of the relatives as a form of thanksgiving.

In my family when someone graduates we go to the ceremony that is held at the school. And then there is usually a party at someones house following the graduation. There will be food. Gifts for the graduate. A cake, some drinks for the adults and games. Sometimes the party is held at a parents house or at a park.

When my daughter graduated from high school we all went out for dinner and had a great time. When we arrived home, I sliced the cake that was home made, as they are always the best. I am not sure what we are doing when my daughter graduates from college. She is now a senior. Congrats and have a great day.

my daughter graduated yesterday. we had a bbq party for her. our family showed up along with some of her friends. we had some of her favorite bbq food and sides. i went ahead and got her a chocolate cake with white frosting topped off with her school colors and a cap and diploma. she loved it. she enjoyed the day with her friends. then she went to her graduation celebration. the senior class was "locked" into the pizzaria (something like chuck e cheese, but more for older kids/adults) she recieved a gift certificate for a door prize.

Well,we are having a party too.But usually it is also sad that we will be seperated and really feel sad about the separation.People may go to different places, even abroad. So that's definitely happy-and-sad thing to me.

We did not celebrate mine or my (eldery) kids theirs. It's not a custom over here although some people do hang outside the flag and the schoolbag. But even that is not a custom in my family. This besides of the fact I don't even have a dutch flag.

Hi Mandalee, first congrats to yoor sister, its a great experience for the graduate and their family... Many well wishes to your sister....but after all the hoopla, maybe the family can take your sister out to eat, that seems like the most likely thing people are doing.... Good luck to her again and have a great weekend...
