What are they doing?

Do you ever wonder this about the people who live around you? We live on one side of a creek and in the winter I can see across it but in hte Summer when all the leaves are out I can't see anything. But I can sure hear things, I think they are tearing down a house, or making a new road, something with large equiptment. And then there are the gun shots? I know we live in the country and many people shoot at the critters who also live here, but this sounds like a gun battle. Hope there isn't anything serious going on. No one is yelling. Aren't I just a nosey old neightbor?

I live with noise all day long here in the city. But if I lived in the country and heard all that noise, I would be curious also. I would want to know what it is. And it would anger me also. Whats the use in living in the country if you have to deal with all kinds of noise. Might as well live in the city.

It's a myth that the country is not noisy, in fact many city visitors have to close the windows to sleep because of the noise. The only difference between city noise and country noise is one is from Mother Nature. In the middle of Summer even we close our bedrooms windows, the frogs are so loud and they go on from dark to light each and every day. Thanks

That is different from hearing fire engines, ambulances and police sirens. Also there is a large jewish community here and they also have a patrol. They always flare their sirens for no reason except to pass lights. And that is all day and all night. Not to mention the noise from the traffic, school buses and people. All day and all night. It has gotten 100 percent worse from 15 years ago.

Nah, there is nothing that is nosy about you at all. We actually live in the city and that means that we really don't tend to have a lot of privacy in our neighborhood. However, during the summer, there are times that it is easy to pretend that we live away from everyone because of the fact that the lot that we live on is heavily wooded. Our backyard indirectly backs up to a main road and during a little bit over half the year, we aren't even able to see the traffic on that road.

If I had to live in the city those are the conditions I would want.

Well...gunshots can turn the most private neighbor into a nosy one..lol...it would me. I have heard stuff before that made me wonder. The thing that kind of bothers me though after this discussion is that if I just hear something once, I don't follow up. I mean..what if you know?

Atleast you have neighbours. My niece lived in a house in the US which had property exceeding 50 acres. She and her husband had just got married and were living here on rent. Can you imagine how isolated they were from the rest of the world? Luckily they moved out from there. Talking about myself, we have neighbours surrounding our property but we do not know what goes on in anyone's house here. No one interferes with anyone. The only time we get to see them is when there is a function for which everyone is invited. I do not socialise and so I don't see them at all. I do have a couple of neighbours who I am friendly with and so I meet them sometimes.

Sometimes the neighbor can be really annoying but sometimes i think that we should also feel gratitude that we still haven't met those people who love to play rock music all day long. But honestly,i'm not so curious about what are they doing.Just make my day, today is my first day learn how to make yogurt.

hai I was here in my hometown and I missed the noise of the crickets at night, the birds that are singing in the morning, the fresh air in the farm, the laughter with my high school friends,my mother cooked,my father's voice, who advice me all the time..The strong noise of the wind..This is what I really miss in my hometown, not like in the city....But I really missed my gf so much.. Have a nice day

There are also times when I wonder what my neighbor(s) is up to. The neighbors located a few meters away from my bedroom firewall are a noisy bunch. Well, the area where I live is very quiet and small noises tend to be big noises. I guess I here a lot about their conversations and quarrels that even though I try not to be a nosy neighbor, I can't help it. Have a great MyLot experience ahead!

I sometimes wonder what people are doing in the summer when the trees grow because we can't see what is on the other side of the path at the back of our house. However, in the winter, we have the opposite issue in that we can see far too much of people. There are neighbours of ours at the back of our house who leave their curtains open when they're getting dressed in the morning, and this means that we are able to see everything that goes on whether we want to or not, and that is never a good thing when we're trying to eat our breakfast.
