Well we know who is running for president, now we have to wait for November to vote for the one we want. This seems so wasteful to me. We have so many problems in our country, why not just elect now and get on with the important business. These statements should excite people enough that they drive me away from town and dump me. So if you see a little old lady by the side of the road trying to hitch a ride back into town, please consider giving her one.

That is why we have "Election Act", it stated clearly the term of a sitting president and the latest date another new presidential election should be held to replace the present one, so that enough time given to the people to make up their mind no matter the nation is facing more or less problem, the political campaign can go in full swing for all political party's chosen candidate to criss-cross the nation's vast landscape.

I fully understand this, but these rules were set up when the only way to get from place to place in this large country was by horse. With new communication shouldn't we be able to cut some of that time down? Start later and still give everyone a fair chance and the President can still stay the full 4 years. And unheard of in these days we might even be able to save alittle money.

If more of the public was aware of the examination necessary to get a top secret clearence that certian government workers, including the President have to go through the question of birth certificate would be seen as a non issue. Poor old Trump has nothing of greater importance to use against the democrates. The whole owrld is on a bad eccomonic cycle. The only thing that can be counted on is that things change. Thanks

Believe me, I would give you a ride, or they might have me standing right beside you. It is time for a few things to improve. I also wish they would count our votes, not the electoral college.

Hi savypat, There is something to be said for your point of view here. The Presidential campaign in the US, is I believe, the longest of any country - correct me if I'm wrong. There are probably many people who haven't made up their mind yet, but do they really need another five months? It is of course the American people themselves who should decide that, but I bet there are plenty who agree with you. Blessings.

For me, I don't exactly understand why my state even wastes the time every four years to have a primary presidential election because by the time that our primary comes along, they've already established who the candidates are going to be for the election that is coming up in November.
With that said, I think that more work would be done in Washington if it wasn't for the fact that the president spends so much of his time on the campaign trail.
