My life of travel!

My story is one of travel, which started even before I was born, as I was conceived in Uruguay, but came to the world in Lima, Peru. I grew up there, but when a teenager my family migrated to Australia, where I went to university and worked for a while. A few years later I migrated again, going to the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, for 12 years. I visited the Expo fair in Brisbane in 1988 and there I happened to meet an Austrian, who I ended up marrying in 1990. The two of us went to South Africa for three months, for what was be our advance honeymoon, and we married and went to Australia to settle. Our two children, Gisela and Christopher were born there and when the youngest was only 4 months old we moved, to Austria, as my husband was offered a job in the same university where he did his engineering studies years before.
We have been in Graz for 13 years now and are not planning to move again (for the time being anyway!). I might be sitting in Austria, but the Internet allows me to keep in movement, as I am in constant contact with family and friends all over the world. With people spread out as they are and a husband who travels much, it is not surprising that we go to far away places like Australia, Azores, Dominican Rep., Spain and islands in the Mediterranean.
I speak English and Spanish (or Spanglish) to my family, but at home it is English and German, as that has now become the kids' mother tongue (even though I am the mother)! I would like them to keep up their English, as that is the only language they have to communicate with my side of the family. The Internet has also been helpful in this respect!
I moved from Australia to Austria, although people sometimes get the two confused! They even have t-shirts with slogans like"There are no kangaroos in Austria"! Another coincidence is that the national flag of Austria is red, white and red (horizontal), yet the Peruvian one is the exactly the same, but vertical!
The Peruvian national anthem is "Somos Libres" (We are free) and I am lucky to that I have been free enough to move around the world the way I have!

You are quite lucky, indeed. I have travelled a lot but haven't lived overseas. When I went to Austria I fell in love with the beauty of it It is also very charming and I always wanted to live there. I doubt that I will. Enjoy your life of travel because there is nothing quite like it!

Wow! You have travelled the world. I bet that has been amazing for you. I would love to travel like that. I have traveled some but nowhere near that much. I suppose the furthest I have been from home was Japan. I want to visit South America, but it hasn't workied out for me yet. I hope to do so in the next couple of years.

Japan is an interesting place, so I have to congratulate you for going there! Going to Latin America has not worked out for you yet, but maybe it does, you will see! I think suddenly South America seems to be improving economically, so you might end up going to Brazil, Chile, Colombia, or Peru! Feliz Viaje! Or like the French say, Bon voyage!!

I envy you for traveling a lot I wish I could also travel even only around our country.
But unfortunately I don't have enough money to spend for traveling as we all know traveling really use money to enjoy it and have a long trip
