Its so much fun going carol singing. I've been getting back home at 12 for da past week. We have a youth group in my church n we went caroling to all the youth members house. We had one of them dressed as Santa, 3 guitarist, one on da congas,n tambourine all set out singin on the streets wishin everybody n giving away sweets to all da little ones.. N then we sang at all da members house. Had plenty of snacks, wine, plum cakes, etc.. The best thing we actually long distance and I feel I've burnt a little fat in my body. Well Its a lot more fun that words jus can express. We covered over 75 houses n we're done now. Goinng carol singin brightens the spirit of christmas. Do you go carol singing ? please share your experience.

I have never done it. It sounds like fun, and you must enjoy it so much. I live out in the desert, not many homes out here.

Hi jeffenmusic :) You've made me remember something from my youth! When I was a teen, I organized all the kids on our block to go Christmas caroling. I typed out "song books" on my parents' old electric typewriter and figured out how everyone should stand in front of the houses (smallest in front, tallest in back, of course). We were nervous at the first few houses because we thought people would laugh at us... but imagine our surprise when people started to hand us money!!! We didn't expect that anyone was going to do that. We weren't sure how to handle this so we went back to my parents' home (we hadn't gotten farther away than a few neighbors) and we asked them what we should do. My mom quickly found a box and we covered it in Christmas wrapping paper and cut a hole in the top. Then, if anyone wanted to give us money, they dropped it in the box. After all was said and done, we had raised over $100 and we decided to donate it to the local Children's Hospital. We were all pretty proud of ourselves and, the best part is that we had a LOT of fun! After we got over our nerves, we really sang our hearts out. I think we were the only carol singers that our neighborhood ever saw... I don't think there were any before OR after us! :)

Next month we will be going to a home thats for the mentally retarded and will get them alot of stuffs n also have some cultural programs n games for them.

We're having alot of fun. Maybe next christmas we might to a concert n raise some funds in aid of orphans or handicapped chidren. Christmas is all about love n giving all that you've got. Christ gave up his throne n took the form of an ordinary baby jsu for us. There are alot of kids that really need us and giving them your time is the most valuable gift of all. We love doing such reach outs n we do them durin the year as well n not just christmas. Think about the senior citizens. They really enjoy speaking to the youth. Well Happy holidays to you n have a bright christmas.
