Who have you seen in concert?  email this discussion to a friend?

Just wondering what pop/rock stars you've seen in concert and what were they like?

Over the years some of the concerts I've been to include:

Lionel Richie - Great concert but halfway through the concert he shouted "Hello London" even though he was in Dublin. Everyone laughed and I shouted back "That's ok Michael". LOL!

Brittany Spears - Very disappointing. She jazzed some of her songs up and my two daughters didn't recognise the music at all.

Michael Lee Roth - Good concert but MLR slipped on the stage and demanded that somebody come out and wipe it.

David Bowie - Tour of the Glass Spider. It was brilliant. He's terrific.

The Cranberries - Great concert.

Randy Crawford - Really enjoyed her concert even though it was only a small concert.

Michael Jackson - Absolutely spectacular concert and I'll never forget all the children coming out on to the stage and singing "We are the world"

Steve Earle - I'd never heard of Steve Earl until I won tickets to his show. I was really impressed.

Melissa Etheridge - I won tickets to this concert too and bought her cds afterwards because I liked her music so much.

Chris de Burgh - I was just 14 when I went to this concert. It was great, obviously, because it was my first concert. I fainted twice and wasn't let back in the second time.

I'm going to see Dolly Parton next March and I'm really looking forward to it. If anyone else has seen her in concert, I'd love to hear about it.

Melissa Etheridge, I saw her cause my friend invited me to the concert.I had only heard one of her songs prior to going. It was an okay concert.

Kenny G, twice. I really enjoyed this concert. Luther Vandrose was there too.

The Temptations, just saw them two years ago. They sing one of my favorite songs.

Color Me Bad, I don't remember to much about that one though.

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

Oh crumbs. The only one of those that I've heard of is The Temptations, and I couldn't even tell you what they sang.

myLot reputation of 75/100. dragonryder (3572)  6 years ago

I thought that all of the members of the temptations were dead except for Otis Williams.I would love to have seen them in their prime.I love their songs.

The Temptations are all new people, except for one original/founding member named Otis Williams.

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

Gosh, you have been to a lot. I've seen Destiny's Child too. I forgot to mention those. They were great in conceret. I couldn't believe it but those girls were NOT tiny. I know now that Beyonce is noted for her curvy figure but I'm sure she was a size 12/14 and she looked GREAT!

myLot reputation of 65/100. sindai (199)   ranked 2 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

Beyonce is one bodacious babe!! Her and Tyra Banks are great role models for girls.

I love going to concerts. Even to check out an artist/band that I may not like but want to hear them live. sometimes I've ended up likeing them because they are great in concert! I'm a musician so I love all types and genres.

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

I play a bit of music and I like most music too. The only music I've nevr been able to get into is jazz. I just find it much too heavy.

Hmm lets see if I can remember them all..
~ Barenaked Ladies/ Five For Fighting and Dakota Moon
goog concert..really liked Five for Fighting.

~ Von Ray x3 (each time I've seen them, they always put on an awesome show)

~ Ludacris/Jarule/ Ashanti..not my favorite concert.

~ Dave Matthews Band (Amzing)

~ Gavin DeGraw and Howie Day (The best concert I've been to, I got to actually meet Gavin and get my picture taken with him)

~ Lifehouse (Great show, they did their music acousticly)

~ Duran, Duran (It was a good concert, but left me feeling disapointed)

~ AFI (Awesome time at the concert, didn't care for the other bands on tour with AFI though)

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

Duran Duran is the only band I've heard of among those. I'm guessing that was a while ago.

myLot reputation of 75/100. dragonryder (3572)  6 years ago

Duran Duran is my all time favorite group.I so much wanted to see them for their "Astronaut" tour but didn't have the money. They played only an hour away from where I live. Why were you disappointed after the show?I love AFI's "Little Miss Murder".

You went to some cool concerts. But yes, I did laugh when I saw Donny Osmond because I scrolled down and expected to see Queen or something. LOL!

myLot reputation of 75/100. dragonryder (3572)  6 years ago

I've seen Donny's sister Marie. It's nothing to laugh at really.Trooper...they sing "Raise A Little Hell" right?BTO must have been awesome.I've seen KISS twice and they are still my favorite concert out of all I've been to.I'd love to see Nickelback and Shania.I watch her free concert in Chicago when it's on TV every chance I get.

LOL!! sorry...I did laugh out loud! But hey...I would have loved to have seen Donny Osmond!

myLot reputation of 92/100. gifana (2229)  6 years ago

The only time I liked Michael Jackson was when he and Donny Osmond were in competition. There was some good music that came out of those good old days.

The first concert I ever went to was Garbage, at a small venue in 2001. It was excellent. We were all moshing on the floor, since there was no seating except above in the 21+ area, and I was only about 20ft from the stage. The only other concert I've been to was...Avril Lavigne. I had different tastes when I was younger. >_> It was in a huge venue and I way away, but it was still fun. One that I would love to go to, if the songs she churns out continue to be as good as I think they are, is a Shakira concert.

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

My daughters would love to see Avril Lavigne or Avril Le Vinegar as I call her just to annoy them. :)

myLot reputation of 33/100. MaxPower1971 (661)  6 years ago

Avril Lavigne kicks @$$!!!

I really liked her in the Metallica Icon on MTV when she performed "FUEL"

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

Yeah, she is good. She's probably one of the only artists whose cds I allow the kids to play. The rest of the things they listen to are obscure Goth/Punk things that start my head pounding when I hear them start up.

7. myLot reputation of 68/100. visitorinvasion (3623)   6 years ago

Hope I can remember them all, lol.

Awesome shows:
Cinderella, Bon Jovi (both times!), Def Leppard, Motley Crue (all 4 times!), Scorpions, White Lion, Stryper, Van Halen (w/ Sammy, both times), Sammy Hagar (solo), Poison (rocked socks both times!), Warrant, Firehouse, Crosby Stills Nash & Young (musical history!), Bad Company (all 3 times), Damn Yankees (all three times), Ted Nugent (solo, both times), Joan Jett (friggin rocked both times!), Cheap Trick, Lynyrd Skynyrd (kicked friggin arse all 3 times!), Foghat,Skid Row

Not so great shows:
The Toadies (before they were popular), DeGarmo & Key, Billy Joel (very disappointing, drunk & screwing up his own lyrics!!), Faster Pussycat, Journey (without Steve Perry!! The drummer sounds better than whoever they had singing lead at Verizon last summer!!!),Ma Kelly

I feel like I'm forgetting some, if I remember any more, I'll be back, lol.

myLot reputation of 68/100. visitorinvasion (3623)  6 years ago

Back already, can't believe I had forgotten the Moody Blues!! Duh! One of the best shows I've ever seen.

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

You've been to see some great bands. Lynyrd Skynyrd are legend! You're so lucky you got to see them. When I went to see David Lee Roth in concert someone asked for a Van Halen song and he shouted "I AM Van Halen". God, he was so full of himself. Maybe that's why he slipped on the stage. Pride comes before a fall.

myLot reputation of 75/100. dragonryder (3572)  6 years ago

Did you realize that in your original post you put Michael Lee Roth?He is full of himself but he can rock.
Stephanie

myLot reputation of 68/100. visitorinvasion (3623)  6 years ago

Poor David Lee, a legend in his own mind.
Last I heard Eddie & Dave were negotiating...again.
Things that make ya go "hmmm" lol.

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

DragonRyder, that is totally typical of me. Sigh! I never forget a face but I have an awful problem with names. :/ *blush*

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

Things that make you go hmmmmmm? LOL! Or things that make you "Jump". Blegh! I couldn't resist that horribly corny input.

myLot reputation of 75/100. dragonryder (3572)  6 years ago

What sucks is you can't edit your own posts here.I figured you'd just made an honest mistake. It's actually cute,in comparison with the Lionel Ritchie thing, calling him "Michael" because he forgot where he was performing at. :-D

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

I couldn't help it. LOL! Imagine how these stars live though, not knowing which city they're going to wake up in next.

Elton John is a good musician who doesn't need to rely on modern technology so I'm not surprised that he's good on stage on his own. :)

I have seen alot of artists some wich I won´t even post since you probably won´t recognize them - but here are some.

Michael Jackson (History) GREAT, wonderful amazing concert.. never will forget it.

3T, Michael Jacksons Nephews along with tito jackson. I had a crush on 2 of the guys so it was great =) *he he he*

Robbie Williams - also a great concert, probably the biggest artist after Michael. Don´t know how well he´s doing in america though
Same goes for westlife whom I also saw =)

Madonna, also a great show, although I was a bit dissapointed since she almost didn´t sing any "old" songs!

Hmm, that´s all i can remember right now - however I will gte back if i remember more!

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Madonna. She was here a while ago but the cost of the tickets was astronomical. :/ Hopefully some day.

myLot reputation of 97/100. Marie2473 (5321)  6 years ago

I agree - the tickets were pricy here as well, but it was worth it coz she is for sure the Queen of music =)

I've been to lots of concerts. But a couple of my favorites were.

Boy George...at the time I was infatuated with him and couldn't believe how big he was in real life. I had a front row seat and got to shake his hand....I was thrilled.

Cindi Lauper...that was great because it was at a very small night club with only about 200 people. As Billie Idol was playing on the big screen, I wormed my way up to the stage. It was great to be standing right there in front of the stage.

I also love going to Yes concerts because they had a great light show.

myLot reputation of 93/100. BittyBiddy (1085)   ranked 1 out of 8 in neil diamon  6 years ago

I wouldn't have been into Boy George, but Cyndi Lauper was great. These days I prefer small concerts, or at least somewhere I can sit down.
