Have you ever disliked a book so much that you couldn't finish it?  

not exactly dislike, but there are many that i found boring....but i still somehow tried to finish them....like this one Swill Family Robins was sooo boring! :D...bt i still finished it :)

I've started many books that I never finished. If I am not hooked by page 100, I put it down. There are too many books on my "to be read" list to waste too much time with the ones I don't like!

I agree about the character in that book though, seems a bit ridiculous to me!!!

A good friend had 4 books she needed to read for her college courses. She was in a time crunch so I told her I would read one of the books for her and give her my review. This book was so boring I could have cried. I forced myself to read every word. I did finish the book and she questioned me on the content. She did get a good grade. I am always glad to help a friend in need. But, never will I submit to the torture of having to read books that bore you to tears.

I've never not finished a book. I've read quite a few that I finished and thought, That was terrible! But like you, if I put it down and think I'm not going to read it, it will sit there and taunt me to finish it!

I've actually started reading a couple of books that I didn't like, but they have have grown on me...

I mostly read fiction, so there have been a few that were just plain bad. I get in a rut with authors and tend to read the same authors a lot, so that I'm sure I'll like their books :)

Never read that... but I did abandon a few books before because I got on to other books which seemed more interesting. Well, that's the way when it is too boring... you tend to procrastinate or decide to put it off a while but then you have new books to read and suddenly that unfinished book is forgotten... that's what happened in my case... well, maybe the day I have nothing else better to read... i will them up again.

Yes ..this happenned to me many times.., i buy magazines regularly but never have time to read it completely. Of course this is not the case of disinterest. But sometimes i start reading books but after few pages ,I just forget that...i think that is because of not having interest in it anymore.

yes ..because after a time was so boring and nothing happened...and was so voluminous i decide dont' read the finish :|

I think you should stick with it -- I was going to quit reading 'Wicked' when I first started it, but I stuck it out, and it really picked up on the 5th chapter -- now it's my favourite book!
You never know, you might just find your feet with the book, and it could really pick up!

Lots of them, it happens all the time, even with writers that I usually like, for example I cannot, just cannot read anything from the Dark Tower series, from Stephen King, and I like many of his others books a lot.

There have only been a couple that I didn't finish. One was religious in nature, and the persons' theology was so far out in "left field" in his beliefs and so different from what I believe the Bible teaches, I threw it away. I didn't want to finish it at all...I thought he was a nut. Another time, it just had too much bad language and violence in it for me...wasn't a bit interested in reading all of that garbage. I'm picky...I want to be entertained, not subjected to that kind of stuff!
