Who has seeds started? |
| |
| I just got my seed catalog and I am longing to get started. Especially the herbs. So I will send off my order today, and start them as soon as the seeds come. I can't wait for spring and the planting season. | | | | | |

| | I am planning to start them in those little bathroom cups and put them on every window sill until I can move them outside. I was just looking at the pansies that I left out on the deck and even though its a subzero 13 degrees outside it still has a flower. I start tomatoes 3 different times. I only put out a few plants at a time, but spread the planting time about two weeks apart. That way I get the early girls and then have tomatoes well into October. | | | |

| | You got that right old dude, I can hardly wait till spring. My herb garden has been growing in my closet for the last 3 months and really needs to get out in the sun where it can muster up some vitality. The best time of the year for herbs is that august red sun. Oh Yeah! | | | | | | |

| | What sort of containers do you use peavey? I too have alot of different seeds to sort and was wondering about the containers to grow them in? I have a few of those cardboard starter store bought ones, but I need to get more and was wondering, if I could use something around the house? What suggestion can you give me? Thank you | | | |

| | I have used egg cartons to start my seeds, then transplant them to those little bathroom cups when the seedlings are tall enough. By then they are usually ready to go outdoors. | | | |

| | Ya know when I was still in Canada we always bought the baby plants rather than starting from seed but I'm seriously considering doing that (starting from seed) this yr...I'd like to give it a try at least and I think it'd be cheaper to do it that way too wouldnt it? | | | | | | |

| | If you want to start seeds with minimal fuss and muss please go to www.gardenweb.com they have a great winter sowing forum. Wintersowing is a method of starting seeds in containers, eg. 2 litre pop bottles and sticking them outside to sleep under the snow until conditions are right to start sprouting. No lights needed, no dampening off, no hardening off. This works with most type of plants, the only thing I start indoors now is my coleous. That is mainly because I need something green and growing in my house in Febuary. | | | | | | |
