| | I make crazy hats for kids out of my remnants. I found a pattern somewhere on the web, but can´t remember where now. Basically, you do up four simple squares using a large hook and sew them together to form a rectangular pocket. Use the same colors or others to make tassles for the two tips of the hat. Kids love them, they´re soft and cute and make great gifts! | | | | | | |

| | i still can't bear to throw away my leftovers yet, have some really old little balls of yarn, lol. but i make the granny squares or just an afgan changing colors when the ball runs out. i do a lot of plastic canvas projects, too, so it gets used there also. hugs... | | | | | | |

| | I make scrap yarn afghans, multicolored hats, gloves and scarfs. The shorter ones I cut in latch hook length and I am making a rug of all different colors and textures | | | | | | |

| | I would have never thought to cut it to latch hook length, probably because I don't do latch work. You're a master at getting your moneys worth! | | | |

| | I have a scrap blanket. It is a blanket that is always "in the works" that I add to when i have something left over from a project that isn't enough for something else. It has tons of different colors and textures and I love it! Its pretty ugly to be honest, but I don't care...its mine! | | | | | | |

| | I make small things like funny nosewarmers (the pattern is at knitty.com), and cat toys. I don't really like having a lot of small pieces of yarn lying around, so I couldn't do anything big with them. Also, all of my yarn is different - different weights and materials, so it wouldn't work well in one big project. | | | | | | |

| | It depends, of course, on how much is left over. If it is a tiny bit, I tuck it away for holiday decoration projectss, gift wraping, and such. Longer bits get made into granny squares. I read somewhere that there is an Indian reservation that will accept the squares and put them together for afghans they use or sell. I'll see if I can find that address and will send mine there. Otherwise I may just save them up until I can talk someone into putting them together for our church project, making afghans for children in trauma. [Project Linus] I figure SOMEONE will eventually agree to do it. :-) | | | | | | |

| | I make lots of stripey (is that a real word?) jumpers and hats and send them to an orphanage/shelter and hospitals in the Ukraine. Alot of babies are born prematurely because of Chernobyl and AIDS so its easy to make small things. Theres lots of charities looking for knitters, just google a bit. I get more satisfaction from doing that than knitting for payment. Good luck! | | | | | | |
