Who rules the remote (of tv) in your house? |
First come, first serve. This is the rule. Whoever got a hold of the remote first will be the last. And that's as good as ruling the tv for the entire day/night! We follow this golden rule in our house. Too bad for the late comers. What about in your house?

1. xelissa (737) | 3 years ago | Can't watch tv unless its the news, have to spend al my time running errands, studying, looking after Claudia or posting stuff here=) Otherwise, we have over 5 tvs in the house cause we used to fight so much over it, with my parents here and all and when it was so boring in the breaks I got.
| |
| |
secretbear (5223) | 3 years ago | wow! you have 5 tvs??? then you dont have to fight over the remote! lol we only have 2 tvs in our house but the other one doesnt have a good reception. only 2 channels are viewable. so the other tv gets all the attention.^__^

| |
| |
secretbear (5223) | 3 years ago | 5 minutes? isnt that worth of commercials only? lol just kidding. thats considerate of you. well i guess you could continue that, if you think 5 minutes is long enough.^__^
| |
oneandonemakesix (24038) | 3 years ago | 5 minutes? That's hardly enough time to decide if its good or not, not to mention if you end up on a channel with commercials.
The commercials take 5 minutes alone.
If there is a fight over what to watch I have final say in it.
Mooch
| |
secretbear (5223) | 3 years ago | good for you oneandone! i usually have the final say too, that's if only my nephew and nieces are watching. LOL if my mother is watching i would ask her permission first to change channel.^__^;;
| |
menctomas (119) | 3 years ago | my children usually OWNS the TV in the house. we have 2 tv. 1 for watching videos and playing games and the other for... well, tv. anyway, i have only one schedule, that is every mondays, after 7pm, the tv is mine. thats it actually, the rest is pure cartoon network, disney, hero tv and lastikman!!!
| |
secretbear (5223) | 3 years ago | LOL its really hard to argue with children if their favorite shows are on.^__^;;
if it is lastikman for your kids, its shaider for my little nephew.^__^;; well, there's no shaider in the local channels and even in cable channels but I have a dvd of it. when my nephew sees me, he'll approach me and say "let's watch shaider!". and hell will break lose if I don't give in to him. LOL now he's even bugging anyone other than me when he feels like watching the darn metal hero.^__^

7. RogerTheRabbit (1151) | 3 years ago | In my house there is no remote control rules. If someone wants to watch some tv show we simply ask to change the channel. If we see that someone is watching something on television that we see is important, we don't even ask to change channel. I guess the only rule is to respect each other.
| |
| |
secretbear (5223) | 3 years ago | that's a good rule. but im not saying that we dont respect each other in our house. we all set the rules, we follow it, we respect it. so that's just good as saying we respect one another.^__^

8. suspenseful (17152) | 3 years ago | We do not have a rule. It depends on what is on, but usually my husband gets it first and when he cannot find anything he like, he will turn it over to me unless there is a hockey game, a comedy, MASH, a movie which he has seen already but which I have not, a show that he does not want to see although I want to see it, if he is not going to the computer room, if he is going to the computer room and wants to listen to the show but does not want me to change the channel. So the only time I get the remote is if he does not want to see the show and he does not mind if I turn it to the show I want to see.
| |
| |
secretbear (5223) | 3 years ago | 0_o LOL I got kinda confused reading your response.^__^;; so basically, your husband rules the tv (not the remote) because, if he wants to watch a show, you can't change the channel, right?^__^;;

secretbear (5223) | 3 years ago | LOL sometimes that's how it is in our house.^__^;; when I was a teenager I would wake up early just to be the first to open the tv. LOL but now I don't care anymore, its now my nieces and nephew who compete for the tv. me? I can butt in whenever I want too and they wouldn't have the courage to go against me. LOL

secretbear (5223) | 3 years ago | before we only have one tv so we had to fight over for the remote. LOL but now, I have my own tv. but its broken! but I still don't fight for the remote anymore. my brother, who were always my competitor, lives with his wife in a different house now so I don't have to go against with anymore. only my nieces and nephews. but they can't do anything against me so basically I am the queen of the tv. LOL
