have you had any near death experiances - have u had any accidents that u survived but logically shouldn´t have? Let me tell u my story... It was a few years ago, while I was on holiday in turkey. I used to love the ocean, feeling the waves and the salty water - that was until it almost killed me. Somehow a wave got a grip of me and i got caught into it. i could not get back to the surface again and I remember uit like it was yesterday. it felt as if I was spinning in a washing machine, I didn´t even know wich way was up and what was down. I remember hitting my head in a rock and thinking - how will my bf break the news of my death to my family. after that a strange feeling of calmness came over me and I remember feeling a nice feeling. When i woke up I was on the beach, many people around me and an ambulance standing by. Someone had pulled me up and carried me to the beach where tha ambulance was waiting. I was not even breathing and I had no pulse at all. I am today fully recovered - however I have never gone swimming in the ocean again!

What a frightening experience this must have been! What a way to interrupt a perfect vacation! I'm so glad that you're OK! I have always loved the ocean, but prefer to enjoy it from the beach. I have never been comfortable going out further than ankle-deep. The waves scare me a little bit, but just the thought of the creatures that are in there gets me! Whenever I'm on vacation, I love walking along the beach for hours, but when I want to swim I always use the pool! I'm sure that you'll never swim in the ocean again, either!

Yes I can relate to that, when I couldn't swim I nearly drowned at my local swimming pool, I was fooling around in the water with my friends and I got on the lilo, one of my friends deliberately over-turned the lilo and I went right under, it seemed like ages but was probably only a minute or so, my friends mum dived in to rescue me, thankfully she was watching, otherwise I would have been a gonner for sure! I didn't want to have a phobia about water, so I made sure I learnt how to swim straight away. It was a horrible experience and I didn't want to repeat it, thankfully I am a good swimmer now.

You are very lucky my dear. I too love the ocean. I do not venture out too far. We go in far enough to get wet. If I want to swim, it is usually in a pool or a lake. Huggers to you.

I have a different experience, and I am thankful that I'm still alive today. It was 8 years back then, and woke up early in the morning. I was crossing the street and was confidently walking because I know that traffic was in full stop, not realizing two motorcycles overtaking and are speeding towards me, with me in between the two speeding vehicles nearly hitting me. If the ever happened, I would be dragged along in the middle of the street and that some cars passing by might also hit me. I'm lucky that it didn't happen, lucky to live up until this day..
