Elvis Presley or Buddy Holly? |
| |
| I know most people will say Elvis Presley since he's "The King" according to many people, but I personally prefer Buddy Holly's music. I actually find quite a bunch musicians of the late 50's and early 60's better than Elvis Presley. Who do you prefer and why? Who is your favourite musician of this time? | | | | | |

| | Elvis Presley never really appealed to me, mainly because I was never a fan of the early rock and roll. He did make a few decent ballads later in his career, but not enough to inspire me. Buddy Holly and the Crickets were much more my type of music, and I still have a few tracks of their's and several other people from that era such as Billy Fury and Paul Anka. | | | | | | |

| | I am actually with you here langhua. I was too young to know Presley in his prime, and maybe if I had been older I would have felt differently, but he was a rather fat, bloated, and sad figure, by the time I was old enough to appreciate music, and I have never been a fan of any of his stuff. Buddy Holly was not as attractive to look at in my opinion, but I think his abiity as a musician (not just a front figure) was far better and who knows what he would have achieved if he had not died do tragically early. | | | | | | |

| | I never really cared for Elvis. Sure, some of his songs were great, but I didn't care for all of them. I think it was his attitude that turned me off. I didn't even care for his movies, and thought he was not that good of an actor either. Buddy Holly, now there was somebody that came out with some good tunes! Who doesn't remember 'Peggy Sue', 'Maybe Baby', or 'Ting-a-ling'? They were some rockin' songs and good music back then! | | | | | | |
