Mine is Uttaranchal in Himalayas In India. It is heaven on earth. Away from all city pollution the refreshing pure water, refreshing winds, huge mountains, river ganges flowing and priests chanting.

There were smugglers who would often attack government ships and steal whatever they had on board. A lot of times, sailors were taken from the government ships and forced to work on the smugglers' ships. This seems pretty close to pirate-dom.
