Ink Cartridges  

I always take mine back to the store. Ive not had really good luck with refills.

Cant refill ink cartridges, have to replace them and toss the old one in the garbage..I wish refill was an option here, I certainly would save myself lots of cash, as its almost 50 bucks for a ink cartridge here for our printer..

I myself have a canon printer and I have resorted to refilling my ink cartridges it is alot less expensive, a little messier but well worth the savings. but ya you are right after about the 5th time they get pretty worn out and it is better for your printer to buy new so you don't end up with a big mess inside the printer...thought I was the only one that did the refill thing good to see someone else does.

I know several people who have had bad relations with refill shops, but the one I go to is very good. They refill my ink and laser cartridges at a very low cost. Since I have ink cartridges refilled almost every week, refilling is my only option. They often "doctor" the cartridges with steam baths and other things and I get anything up to 23 refills in the one cartridge, so it is a very great money saver. A new ink cartridge is over $50 and the refill is $18. The laser cartridges are reconditioned, so it never wears out. I exchange mine for a reconditioned one, at less than half the price of a new one.

There are a few that we've tried refilling, but the color doesn't come out quite right. It's fine for basic printing, but not for details like photos. Lately we've been getting good deals on cheap printers that come with ink, so we just buy a new printer. :) Unfortunately, DH changes the cartridges when needed, and leaves the old ones all over the Computer Desk. He insists he needs them for something so we can't throw them out. Hmm... Right.

I also use a lexmark printer and the price of cartridges is ridiculous i used to be a chemist and no one can tell me it cost enough to make them to warant the price when i need them i go to a store that rebates me for my empty ones !

I take mine (HP) back to the Staples store. They give you a $3.00 coupon for each one and you can spend the coupons on anything in the store.

My mother in law does the same thing, refilling hers with ink she orders offline. However, we're not lucky enough with our printer to do that. I shouldn't complain really, because we picked it up at for 10. at a garage sale and it's a printer, copier, scanner. But it won't let us refill, has to do with kind of cartridges it puts out. So we just make sure not to do a lot of color printing, LOL. 23.00 for a black one is bad enough. So if we can't refill them, we recycle them. I hate to throw anything away that i can recycle.

I take them to this staor called Cartridge World. They take your old ones and sell you a refilled one for a lot cheaper. I've gotten a few black and couple color cartridges from them and haven't had any problems so far. Ink is just so expensive, this seems like a great way to go.
