I love a good book. I prefer a novel in hard copy, and for academic information I prefer my computer.

While I love to read the heavier types of books and novels once in awhile, I usually tend to read light, chick lit type of books on a normal basis, just because I sometimes don't have the attention span or time to sit down and immerse myself in those kind of books.

I definitely prefer novels to academic books simply because these days academic books are simply not good enough. These days education has become so commercialized that the real good things are no longer taught at school. It is better off enjoying a novel than wasting your time with those huge books :) Cheers! I read both kinds as often as I can find the time to do so. However, lately, I've been reading academic books more often than the other "for fun" kinds. I'm not in school again, but I've kept most of my college text books. I never read them while I was taking the class itself, as I found that my notes and the class lectures pretty much always covered what I would have to know for tests, and I found that reading about the subject on top of that somehow took away from my learning experience. But, now that I haven't been in those classes for a while, I've decided to bust those books open again. So, for instance, right next to me, I have a book on anthropology, a book on astronomy, and a book on parallel myths. All of these are old college text books. The only "for fun only" type book I've read recently has been "Treasure Island", because I'm reading it to my eldest daughter one chapter at a time.

well i like reading books but it depends upon the time. I read academic books during school days and fiction books during free time. Only one series of books i can not resist it is the Harry Potter series!

It depends on my mood and what I'm interested in at the time. Lately I've been reading a lot of books dealing with the Law of Attraction and other self-help, self-improvement types of books. Other times, though, I enjoy the escape from reality that fictional novels tend to offer.
