I fry up boloni in butter for protein with an egg or pancakes, if there is no bacon in the house. Have you tried this? What have you done for a replacement?

We would have fried bolonie sandwiches with cheese. The kids loved them. I no longer can eat bolonie as it doesn't agree with me.

I have used ham as a replacement for the bacon.

We've had fried bologna before. My kids used to love it. Strangly my husband does as well. I don't really care for it much.

We do without. We do not fry many things and defintely not bologna and not in butter. Eggs are often just done as extra on a morning when all are home. Through the week it is toast or cereal. Although since I had bacon my daughter fried it up and we both ate it. One shot deal. We wouldn't do a replacement unless it would be sausage.

I have absolutely no idea what boloni is ?? I am sure I have never seen it in our UK supermarkets .. And if I haven't got any bacon then I just don't have any .. I raely eat bacon these days as it is usually really disgusting .. pumped full of water and stinks of fish meal .. unless of course you buy really good quality bacon and then it's really nice ... I just can't afford to spend the money on it though ..

I actually prefer fried bologna over sausage or bacon. as I can buy reduced fat bologna! I really don't have any of the three very often. I just have an egg and whole-wheat toast or whole-wheat pancakes. Sometimes though, I will fix a fried bologna and scrambled egg sandwich on toasted whole wheat bread.

I have never tried that before but it sounds very good. I have had the problem of not having bacon or sausage to fix some gravy with before though. I have fried up some bologna and used it in place of the sausage or bacon though. I fry up the bologna, then I add me a little bit of vegetable oil into the pan with it. I heat that up just a bit and add some flour to it. Mix that up real good and add some salt, pepper and milk and that makes an awesome bologna gravy for breakfast. Fix some biscuits and pour the bologna gravy over top of them. It is really good.
