CSI Las Vegas Update

In Saturday's Toronto Star there was an interview with Robert David Hall who plays coroner Albert Robbins - you know, the guy with the crutch. That's real, by the way. He was in a car accident in 1978 - his Volkswaven was crushed by a tractor trailer and he sustained burns to 68 percent of his body and his legs had to be amputated.

Anyway, we all wondered what was happening with CSI when William Petersen left to do a stage show. Yes, he left to do a stage show. But at the time we wondered whether he was coming back and whether the show could be sustained without him. According to Hall, there is a lot more left in CSI and it all depends on how long Petersen wishes to continue. In other words, it's Petersen's show. If he decides to leave then I guess the show would end.

Petersen actually picked Hall for the role after two other people were slated to do the job. He says Petersen is front and centre in every episode but gives them all space - very loyal, very imaginative about finding new ways to do a scene.

So there you have it. It looks like William Petersen won't be going anywhere and if he does, then the show will end. Well, he is Executive Producer, isn't he?
