How often do you clean up your computer files and desktop?

I have not cleaned my desktop or computer files up in such a long time that I am now overwhelmed with files and things that need to be gone through, organized and weeded out!!!The photo I included here is just SOME of the folders...

Apart from defragmenting your hard disk, what else do you do in order to free up disk space? I just discovered crap cleaner and I think it's really a great software. What about you?

my c drive shows 5.30 gb with data, but when I enter it and select all files and folders, they are only 4 gb. why? ps: i enabled showing hidden and system files too I have system pagging on my d drive, using XP and the 1 gb IS...
