The Himalayas and other mountains range a long distance full of alpine vegetations. There are many butterfly gardens around the hills. Wherever there are eucalyptus forests and pine forests there are butterflies around. The...

Mention was made last night of a ‘gum leaf band’. This is what the name suggests – a bunch of people using gum (eucalyptus) leaves to play tunes. Did you ever play music using tissue paper over a comb? The sound is a bit similar....

I sometimes commented on here that I haven’t been able to find a particular photo. Later, of course, when I’m looking for something else, then the ‘lost’ photo will turn up. I have a lot of photos and have them sorted in a number...

The photo shows the magnificent tree in the front yard of the place where we are doing some brick paving. The area where we’re working in at the front right-hand corner. I think the tree might be a lemon-scented gum. The trunk is...

I have two pieces of good news to tell. First, I saw the biggest eucalyptus tree two days ago. Second, my younger brother was hired on the same day. This tree is located where he is going to work. I congratulated him and wished...

Daringbari is situated at 4000 feet above sea level in Orissa. There are briliant pine forests and eucalyptus forests. There are parks created adjacent to them. The lovely alpine breeze is enjoyable. The greenery is enchanting.

I love trees and really wish I could identify them more easily. It’s on my ‘to-do’ list.
In the Karijini National Park area of West Australia, we’ve seen dozens of really white trees. Apparently the local name is ‘snappy gum’...

We’ve been without internet all day today and now that it’s getting near bedtime, suddenly we’re connected again. Well, better late than never I guess.
We had a lady come out today and she wants Vince to take some special photos...

I’ve written about our friends selling up and moving back to the city to be nearer their grandchildren. They will be living in their caravan for around twelve months while their new house is being built. Many items of furniture...

I wrote recently that friends are giving us a wall unit made of marri or redgum, a West Australian timber which has a very lovely grain. I don’t have a photo of it and we won’t be getting it until their house sells which could be...

We've been tonking around the south-west of Western Australia providing support for a friend who was on a walking trail known as the Bibbulman Track. One of the areas we passed through is the last large area of tingle trees. These...

Isn't it strange sometimes how stuff you've grown up with doesn't make an impact until one day it hits you between the eyes? It's only today I've realised Australia has a red gum, a blue gum and a white gum. How can this be that...
