Yes, we did go out and I did buy groceries and use some coupons, but we did some enjoyable things as well. Libraries and thrift shops are always fun.
We have eaten quite well.
School will start back up and I will be at work come...

We got to Oklahoma yesterday in time to go out with a group we have known for years.
My meal at Longhorn Steakhouse was salmon over garlic rice, and roasted brussels sprouts and asparagus. I had raspberry tea.
My only complaint...

Jane and I were going to meet up for coffee, but she is not feeling well. Her health seems to have gone downhill a lot in the last two years.
So I went to a couple of thrift shops. I now have some nice additions to my fall/winter...

I know many of you will think I’m taking hoarding to extremes, but I never throw anything potentially useful away, and I’m constantly surprised by the things other people throw out without a second thought.
I’m talking about...

Goodwill sucked me in this morning... I bought several tops and a pair of pants. One top in particular, a top I'd describe as "Female Sailor" was actually a romper. Yep, I thought it was just the top, but brought it home to find...

I like sales & to go to bargain/discount/thrift shops. Often, the quality between item A, B, C or D is the same or similar. If you're also able to save with B, it seems the obvious choice. One thing I will spend more on is, car...

You have probably heard of the Salvation Army, yes?
There are so many ways to give.
My personal way of giving is going to their store and buying items, from clothes to books to etc. Once I bought 5 pairs of blue jeans for 99...

Second hand or in other words, not original owner of.
I'm a member of a facebook group called "Weird secondhand things I just had to share." I don't see a lot of posts from the group anymore, but there are some pretty strange...

Some people love to buy second-hand things in a thrift shop. I also do this by having novel books from renowned authors. Well, I considered it a collector's item. A collector's item is something that we can cherish. As for the...

I overslept this morning. It then took too long to get in here, so I have very little time.
I plan to go thrift shopping right after I get home this evening.
That is all for my big plans, LOL.
I still have to pack a lunch for...

There has to be something cheap in this pandemic. I was thinking about it since we are trying to save a lot of money because of income opportunities are lessening. We just wanted to make a living and put food on the table. What is...

Does anyone remember VHS tapes? Ah they were plentiful through my childhood and young adult years.
I came across this story online about a man who picked one up at a thrift story, simply titled "A Surprise" and was brave...

Hi MyLot,
I recently purchased a big box that had pots and pans, plates, and a whole lot of mixed silverware in it. The Silverware got me to thinking about , well, silverware or, for those of you purists out there, flatware....

I went over to the good goodwill in the next town over. They always have a good selection of clothes. I saw a dress that was really cute but I knew it would be too small on me. As I've said before, I don't try clothes on before...

I am not sure if I am just easily entertained or what, but i just LOVE the feeling I get from selling stuff on Poshmark! Maybe it is because I adore making something out of nothing and selling my gently used clothing and...

Do your cities or towns ever do this? A suburb just north of me had their "city wide" garage sale, a weekend where the city provides a map and there are a ton of garage sales. This city of 20,000 had over 70 individual garage...
