growing up, the only wind chimes here were made of metal tubes and hung on doorways.
then many years later, when my sister rented an apartment, she had a bamboo wind chime on the second floor veranda/balcony.

I have a wind chime in my home, the purpose is just to let it produce a sound as wind blows. We are using a kind of wind chime as picture shown. Do you have any other idea what's other purpose of putting wind chime on our doors...

For me it depends on the sound itself. Some wind chimes can be sooooo annoying to me, while others are very soothing. I also think it depends on where I'm hearing them.
For the most part I do enjoy the soothing sounds of wind...
