On our bus trip recently, we had lunch at a winery. There was some lovely bread, dip and dukkah for starters then a choice of four mains and two desserts. Vin and I both had Scotch steak which was tender and delicious. The other...

While we’ve been in our old stamping ground, we took a trip out to a favourite winery and stocked up on a few bottles of wines we particularly enjoy.
Some bottles were on display in a wooden box which was supported by these...

Whenever we visit a winery in Western Australia, I always look to see if there are any unusual decorations or other attractions. The first winery we stopped at had this cute model car on their lawn. All the men in our party were...

Today, we went on a bus trip with others from our lifestyle village. We went to two wineries for wine-tasting and had lunch at the second one. From there, we went to a nougat and nut factory for more goodies.
I don’t like nougat...

Yesterday, we traveled 3 1/2 hours to upstate New York to visit The National Baseball Hall of Fame. It was a Father’s Day gift from our son to my husband.
After having lunch, all four of us went into the building. My son’s...

We had a phone call last night from Vince’s older sister. On Sunday evening, she and her husband are coming to stay with us until Thursday. It will be good to see them. Vince is sussing out new recipes to try on them.
We will...

My state, Western Australia, has only five active COVID-19 cases and all have come in from overseas. They are being quarantined in hotels. We are doing well but, of course, the danger is still there and we can’t afford to become...

I posted a collage recently of a jigsaw and a painting of a cow, each of which reminded me of the other. While staying with friends over New Year, we had barbecued fish for New Year’s Eve.
The next day, we had lunch at a winery;...

I was impressed with this floral display in the winery where we had lunch about a week ago. It was mostly grevilleas, banksias and callistemons, all of which can be cultivated quite easily. It is against the law to pick most of...

We had a relaxing four days with friends recently. We all did our own thing pretty much. Some went for walks, others read or played one of several games that they’d brought with them. One evening we played bocce/petanque/boules on...

On the last day with our friends, we went to lunch at a winery near to where we were staying. We had a delicious meal. I chose salt and pepper squid which was delicious and not the least bit chewing. They had some nice artwork...

MyLotter @xFiacre recently wrote about several really bad experiences at an hotel. In my response, I asked if he was going to put a review on TripAdvisor. Do you use this site? We often check out an eating house or tourist...

I did not feel like writing today. Once the morning fog cleared around noon I grabbed my phone and camera and headed for Sculpterra Winery and Sculpture Garden in Paso Robles. It's about a ten minute drive. I guess they were...

For maybe two years this art quilt, "Willamette Valley Harvest", has been hanging in a pain management clinic here in town. They get to decorate the walls with art quilts from Anne's group and sometimes someone buys one.

This was of the barrels in the back of the cave. I think we're going to end up bringing our kids here this summer because it looks like it could be a nice educational experience for them (plus it'll get them plenty of exercise).

We visited the wine cave up on the hill when at Wollersheim and I got a photo of the inside. I wasn't expecting it to be as spacious as it was. I imagine it could hold quite a few barrels when it was still in use.

Some of the grape vines that surround the winery. They obviously are still dormant because it is early in the year yet.

An old limestone cave that was once used for storing the wine. Even though we didn't get a chance to go on the formal tour, they let us walk up there and check it out.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday and, as part of it, I decided to take her up to Wollersheim Winery, as I have been promising to do for some time now.

Tonight we had a meeting at a friend's winery pertaining to defending our water rights. We got lost on the way because we missed a turn. It was killing me, because we were on the back roads and the sunset was gorgeous. All I...
