Go Away - "Dance the Night Away"

Scott Ganschow @teamfreak16 (48170) • Denver, Colorado 22h

There’s a meme that occasionally makes the rounds on Facebook. Essentially, it says that the reason Van Halen was so great was that every song sounds like a dog wearing sunglasses. And now, good luck listening to Van Halen without...

The apple pie cake truffles were a big hit

NJ Chicaa @NJChicaa (128169) • United States 14h

Today the Baking Club assembled the apple pie cake truffles from Christina Tosi's "All About Cake" baking book. They involve 4 components but none of them are difficult. They just take some time. I made 3 of them in advance here...

Hello everyone. I hope your day is going well. It is 60 degrees F and sunny here at the Jersey Shore. I had to close the windows. Work was busy today. Then we had Baking Club. I'll write more about that in another post. I am...

Ah, Rome.

Fiacre Banks @xFiacre (15462) • Ireland 21 Oct

Rome’s being washed by heavy rain today but that’s ok. We’ll cafe hop. I had no option but to start last night’s repast with a little saucer of olives, oil and delicious bread, while awaiting the starter of a deep fried zucchino...

Well I am staying up. . . this is going to be a long day

NJ Chicaa @NJChicaa (128169) • United States 21 Oct

I didn't get around to doing the stuff I needed to for today's Baking Club project so when I woke up after 1am I got going. I finished the pie crumb dust at about 4am and then got another load of dishes started. It is 4:30am and...

I found the candles

NJ Chicaa @NJChicaa (128169) • United States 21 Oct

Well not the entire box that went missing. That is gone. I wrote last week about wondering where all the candles have gone. I mean I always have them burning but it seemed like they had disappeared more quickly than usual. I...

NJ Chicaa @NJChicaa (128169) • United States 21 Oct

Yup. Can't make this stuff up. I was super tired and unmotivated last night so I went to bed early and decided to just set the alarm for 4am to get the cakes made. I figured I could make the pie crumbs at work tomorrow. Well I...

Whats going on the dinner table tonight? Share with us! I'm trying a new recipe tonight--Skinnytaste's French Onion Soup Pot Roast. I could have sworn I made it before but I can't find any evidence of that. The good thing is that...

The sheer nerve of some teenagers

NJ Chicaa @NJChicaa (128169) • United States 20 Oct

I wrote last week about 3 members of the Baking Club raiding my snacks and sitting back in my prep room on the couch talking. 2 of the 3 are former students of mine who know better than to mess with me. There has been a boy who...

Restless legs

NJ Chicaa @NJChicaa (128169) • United States 19 Oct

I had heard of it before but didn't experience it until August. I was on my spa vacation and just couldn't stop moving my legs because they (and my feet) hurt so much. I was up until like midnight talking to my roommate and then I...

NJ Chicaa He will eventually. I was gone from here for 2 months. My scaredy cat Adso was never seen by anyone who came here to clean or care for the cats. Within minutes of when we got back the little creep was all over me.

Marie Coyle @MarieCoyle (64314) 18 Oct

I used to not dread getting the electric bill like I do now. But here we are, livin' the dream...anyway. Some of you may remember that for a month this summer, my central air was down, waiting on parts and repair. We ran a...

Getting hair done is expensive

Lena Kovadlo @lovebuglena (51269) • Staten Island, New York 18 Oct

My Turkish hairstylist used to charge $245 for hair color and highlights, haircut, and blowout. After he moved to a different location, he now charges $265 for the same thing. And then I usually give him a $5 tip. When my...

NJ Chicaa @NJChicaa (128169) • United States 19 Oct

Elmo already embarrassed himself with the exceptionally ugly and underperforming Cybertruck. I think I read that they were going to stop producing them. I roll my eyes whenever I see one on the road. Now Tesla/SpaceX is making a...
