Does Blueberry Pie Tea sound good? I don’t drink a lot of tea, and if I do, it usually is iced tea. Although hot tea with honey when I have a sore throat does make everything seem better.

Yes, I know it’s music’s turn to go first, but this is the third day in a row that I’ve featured a baseball player, and you’ll probably appreciate the musician. (Relax, two actors in a row forthcoming….nobody ever complains about...

A lot of things don’t cost much, but when you buy so much of them, they start to add up. Is there anything that seems like an insignificant cost, but when you start to think of it, you realize you could really use getting a few of...

Yesterday we lost Bob Weir, dwindling the number of surviving members of the Grateful Dead to three. Today I feature a musician who was the last surviving member of his band, closing the book on a great music chapter.

If I could, I would charter a tour bus and let them drive us around the country. I have friends to pick up in Missouri, and Oklahoma, and Oregon, and Ohio to say the very least. Georgia would be on the itenerary and New Jersey,...

I LOVE red raspberries and will eat them fresh off the vine or eat the ones sold in the local grocery store. BUT, I don't like anything flavored with artificial raspberry flavoring.
People tell me it's the same flavor but it...

NJ Chicaa I love fresh raspberries. If I had to pick a fruit flavor raspberry would be up at the top of my list.

When I was a little kid in California, a teenage girl dropped me, and my leg went through the wall, breaking it (my leg). When I was four, my collarbone was broken in a car accident. A few years later I broke a few toes, but those...

Today is your worst nightmare: sports! (Sorry, Eva, you can’t run to the no-football-room and escape this one, because it’s baseball! ) The first of five baseball players to be remembered from 2025...

We’re having misting rain here in the land of the Kentucky Derby (and if you’re counting, or even if you aren’t, it’s only 110 days until Kentucky Derby 151!). While the weather changes, I don’t. I’m looking back at the musical...

I am hoping to make a convert of some of you with this song. I'm sure you remember The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel? This is The Sound of Silence by the heavy...

I drink bottled water (yes, I recycle). I didn’t always, but the water at my apartment tastes terrible. I used to be able to tolerate it because I’d put it in the freezer to get it ice cold. That quit working, and eventually...

NJ Chicaa I drink the tap water here. It is fine IMO.
I don't like using bottled water. Even though we recycle plastic around here I still feel guilty about it. I have a big Stanley tumbler that I use. At work we have water filling stations. In the morning here I fill...

Every year we lose a long list of famous and near-famous in the world of music, and every year I salute them. Remember, these aren’t “the biggest names,” they’re the biggest ones to me personally. Since this is my brother’s...

So here we go again, a George Floyd scenario where a member of the public was needlessly killed by overzealous US government forces on US soil. Clearly the lady was an agitator and didn't do as she was told but for a grown man to...

Although this didn’t make my personal top ten list (neither did the pope, so that tells you how weird I am), without question this is one of the most significant deaths of 2025. The contributions this woman made to the study of...

Another day, another musician who’ll cause you to shrug when you see the name…and then you hear the song. That’s one of the reasons I do these tributes (both the monthly music lists and the look back over the year): songs are...
