Why is it called babysitting?

Today I was thinking. I'm a babysitter and I wonder why it is called baby-sitting? I mean not all the children that babysitters watch are babies. Why not call it child care provider or something? Can you imagine the conversation?...

inspiredfaith Have you realized that the parents when they are talking about their kids said " My baby" even when their kids aren't babys anymore. :) I think that is babysitting because when the kid is still baby the word is correct. But why to search and find another word...

inspiredfaith I will give you a little practic advise .... Try to listen yourself. And when you are up to say something like sh*t ... then just say another strange word but not sh*t:) Not after long you will be able to control your mouth. And if you see that you can't do it...

inspiredfaith I do it all the time. But there is the problem - they aren't really atheists, because they believe ..... and i will stop here, because to be an atheist means not to believe in anything. :)
