krkchn I may be that your receiver is running at "Wireless N only". The wireless should be at the same protocol. eg. Wireless B to wireless B; wireless G to wireless G. At default, it runs all the protocol. Someone may have set it to run at one protocol only

krkchn In winXP, the disk partition tool isn't flexible, so if you want to do a partition, you may have to delete the current partition. Only partition magic is the trick to create a partition from an existing one. But since your in vista and your job is done, good...

krkchn It does lessen the lifespan but only a negligible effect. Reading and writing causes the harddisk to wear and tear. A natural process of the device. But unstable system and bad sectors may be lethal to your harddrive, so it is better to format when problems...
