Why do people feel they have to keep rocking a sleeping baby?

LCecelia @LCecelia (1124) • United States 4 Sep 07

There is a young lady standing in front of me rocking a baby. The baby is fast asleep, yet she continues to rock it up and down. I could understand if the baby was fussing, but this one is asleep. The same thing happened one...

misselizabeth1 Babies are so cute and cuddly that sometimes rocking them is comforting for the parent or whomever is doing the rocking. Also, people keep rocking the baby because they think that if they stop the baby will wake up. Babies are smart and they know what to do to...

Why does God require faith?

Daelin @Daelin (683) • Brazil 19 Aug 07

If He gave us free will and because of that we are able to have faith or not, why He wants us to have faith? The fact that someone doesn't believe in Him shouldn't be forgiven since it is an act of free will?

4 responses

misselizabeth1 Put it like this, wouldn't you want your child to have faith in you that you will provide his/her every need? You can't have faith in something you don't believe in. Faith isn't for his well being, it is for our well being. To have faith as big as a mustard...

Although I'm not Christian, I do believe in God. I've always believed that God has given us Free Will. Free Will means that we are free to choose how we live our lives. If this is true, how is it possible to sin against...

misselizabeth1 I read the previous responses and all are true and shed some light on what it means to have Free Will. God loves us so much that he made all of us different but in some way likeness of him. He gave us Free Will because he wants us to read his word and obey him...

We live on base in a huge three bedroom house. We have access to multiple parks, tracks, gyms, library, gym and pool. It is a highly protected base. We pay well over a thousand for rent. Granted, were we in Northern CA or MD this...

Do you think skim milk is just as healthy for children as regular milk?

beautyqueen26 @beautyqueen26 (16030) • United States 15 Aug 07

Awhile back we switched our entire family from whole fat milk to skim milk, because we were worried that our daughter was filling up on milk would not want to eat her regular food. We found that it does make a real difference in...

misselizabeth1 Children two years and younger should drink milk with some fat in it--preferrably 2% but if they are older then I think skim milk is fine. It's less calories, fat, and has the same or even more of the recommended nutrients as whole milk. Whole milk in my...

autismfamily @autismfamily (190) • United States 1 Nov 06

I cannot stand the taste and texture of whole milk, plus the fact that it is 2% fat. Due to having asthma my entire life I have always consumed skim milk. When first moving to California from New Jersey no one really knew the...

misselizabeth1 I buy whatever brand of 1%milk the store has. Skim milk is somewhat too thin and 2% is a little too thick. Whole milk is not an option unless it is the only option and then I would add water to it to thin its consistency.
