I am so upset with my cable/internet provider COX Communications!

All day my cable and internet has been off and on! I can't get a thing done! Everytime I try to do something, out it goes again! It is so upsetting on a SUNDAY not to have TV! Hubby is missing the Nascar race and the Hornets game! Just went out again! Guess I will have to wait for it to come back on to submit this. I wish for the price they charge, they would have better service! It seems like this is happening every week! They also do updates in the middle of movies during the day! If you ask me, they should do all this at night when people are asleep, so there are NO complaints! What do you think? Do you have trouble with your cable/internet provider a lot? ~Icy~ WOO HOO It's back!

Glad it came back on Icy! and yes it seems every once in a while that happens and i ask them about some credit..it doesn't hurt to ask right LOL. Of course they never do..oh well maybe if i keep doing it they will get tired of me LOL

Thank you Rose I got a $13 credit one time because this happened for a week and I was FURIOUS! Next time tell them they inconvinenced you and see what happens.

the onyl prob is , lately we got the kids a computer and we had to buy a special modem could not just use the router but thats my only complaint so far..lol hugs- Dn

DN I don't understand, we have 2 computers, and they are connected through a router. What kind of modem did you need? I have a motorola (spelling) and it is all from cox....except the router. Hugs ~Icy~

Hi icyorchid , Yeah i was facing the same problem yesterday. My internet went on and off quite frequently. I called up our operator and he told me some repairing is going on. So i couldn't post much yesterday. Generally they inform us in advance if they are going to do some construction work. I have no problems with my tv as such. I am glad your internet is up and running. Happy surfing ~pinks~

That is awful. that would get on my last nerve, especially since I work online daily. They should have alot better service for the fee. I definitely can relate to that. I have lovely dialup because that is all that is available here right now/

Cox has been our cable/internet/phone provider for almost two years now and so far we have not had any issues with them. Sometimes the internet is a little slow but I think it's because of the many wireless connections in our apartment building. Did you call them and find out what was going on?

Yes all is fine now. They have a broken pole and they are trying to get it fixed.

i had some problems like that a couple years ago w/ my cable internet i complained to the company they didnt want to take any responsibility for it , they tried saying that can happen during peak hours .. in my case it was randomly any time during the day or night, they also tried to blame it on a server i use for a game i play, but i wouldnt hear it i demanded a new modem, and after threatening to leave that company .. they relented and gave me a new modem ... sure enough problem solved. anyways thats my experience hope yours gets resolved XD

I feel like I want to share......it took me three weeks to get Internet....then my server kept on my high speed dial-up and internet! I could NOT use my computer because I had so much Anti-everything....I finally spent 7 (count them seven hours & a few minutes) on the telephone, talking to everyone around the world....half not speaking English...and finally had my Internet restored......That was a total of 4 months...with sporadic, disfunctional service. I got 2 months free.....LOL...big deal, when you live on a very remote Island.

I wonder what you issue is? I believe I live not that far from you and have had no issues lately with Cox. They are so much better than other providers. You should call the techs, they will usually come out same day (our will even come out on a Sunday).

don't be too upset, i am sure they are already working on it right now. :) we have no such problems with our internet provider.. we get rebates of about Php500 every 24 hours that we do not have connection. so they make sure connection is back as soon as possible, that is part of our contract. as for the tv cable.. no problem too since we do not subscribe to cable. :) hehe

do you have wi-fi hotspots around where you live?If so,than you might could get on with wi-fi for no money at all.i use to be with cable internet,until i got my laptop the other moth.and when i did,i connected to wi-fi through my laptop's wireless adapter.But,i know what you're going to say,i don't have a laptop,but i have a desktop pc.It don't matter. You still can connect to wi-fi internet connection through a desktop pc. all that you neneed extra,is the wi-fi adapter which you can buy online at walmart online for $39.98 there at the online store.I bought one for my g/f,and hook ed it to her puter,and installed the software that came with the cd,and it works perfect!and i sware,we don't even have cable no more,b/c they cut it out b/c i didn't pay for the internet bill.hehe so,she's connected and happy,and i'm connected and happy.we don't owe nothing now for the internet bill now.we're going to keep it the wi-fi connection that is.We get a full signal bar strength to where we're at.and that's good for us though.:)

Yes,it's really a bad thing.I always very angry with that thing.I'm lucky that it didn't happen these days. I also think they should do it at night when the people fall asleep.But if it do that I will not happy because I always like to play it at midnight.

Oh I certainly know how you feel. We don't have cable here in the Dom Rep because it isn't always reliable and as for computer connection I have tried to answer this and the computer just went down so I am having to answer it again. It is a pain to have to retype everything isn't it! And the connection is never really quite fast enough for me. Perhaps it is my lack of patience, ho hum. I'm back now, tee hee.

I am not sure who the trouble is with, but I occasionally watch a show on the LIfetime Channel.. Quite a few times, I have gotten to almost the end of the movie and it cuts off.. Also, with Comcast, when watching anything on any channel, the movie, show or whatever you are watching is a normal sound, not too higg nor too low and then you get a commercial, it will blast you out of your chair.. I never have understoof these two problems, but they are about as frustrating as getting cut off constantly.. Service should be better than it is for the price that you have to pay..

OH Yes we have that also and when you are alone and you get up to fix something to eat and a commercial comes on, you are running for the remote! I don't understand why, and I wonder why it is that way.
