My wife loves the Lilacs growing behind us. Plus I like surprising her as well. So I grabbed my pruning sheers and went out back clipping just a few. I set them in a vase and man does the house ever smell great now. the scent will still be here in 5 hours when she comes home. Do you do little things like this for your loved one(s)? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have never done anything like this before. I have a very hard time keeping fresh flowers growing without them dying on me. My husband does buy me some flowers every now and then though. That was a very nice thought of you to do that for your wife. I love a good smelling house also. I am constantly looking for things that smell good to use in my home. I do have some live forever plants and some tulips planted though and of course my garden things.

Aww. That was sweet. I love Lilacs. They are my favorite for scenting the house. My boys used to bring me some every spring. Generally the owner of the lilac bush didn't get mad. lol

Hi GRANDPA BOB! Aaaw, that is so sweet! I am sure GRANDMA DEB will be tickled pink when she see the flowers. I feel that way, when hubby do the same thing for me. And as for me doing little things for hubby, aah..yeah sure...sometimes...haha.. Just joking..I have been doing little things, any thing that will just come popping out through my mind that will put a smile in hubby's heart. But one thing that will make hubby truly happy is when I miraculously, all of a sudden, in my insane moment..I will wipe clean all his toy collections. haha.. Take care and God bless! Celebrate life!

A block from home I told her I had a surprise for her. As she walked through the gate in the back yard she was looking all over the yard for a new veggie or flower or something to be planted. As she walked in the back door and saw thwe vase she took a deep breath and thanked me. She loved them as I do too. They still smell great. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Wildflowers From My Husband -
My husband picked these small wildflowers while we were out on a walk. Isn't he a sweetie?
Beautiful And I'll bet they smell just as pretty. I love wildflowers and daisies and that sort of thing more than I do store-bought roses and my husband knows it. Last year I was visiting him here in Ohio for the weekend and he kept picking me these pretty little flowers as we went for a walk. I told him I had nothing to put them in and he presented me with the perfect solution. They were small, so the salt shaker was the ideal size for my little arrangement. Yes, he pays attention to the little things - sounds like you do too. Good job!

Always! I think that's a key ingredient in any good, solid relationship. My hubby is almost always working. He works primarily from home so, from time to time, I'll drop by his office and bring him something he likes, a cup of coffee, a sandwich, things like that. He tends to get very wrapped up in his work and forgets about eating. Not good! I make sure he has his favorite "snack" foods around, and they ARE healthy as long as I make sure they're bite-sized and ready. He loves celery and dip, but he won't eat celery if it's not already cut up. I don't know if it's a guy thing or if he's just lazy. But I'll do it for him because I care. He does the same for me, in different gestures, of course. I actually got lilacs put in a vase as a surprise once! Well done!

Thanks bunches. I used to leave little love notes in her pockets or purse for when she rode the bus or got to work. Now I write the notes and leave them on the coffee pot for her to see when she wakes up. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Aww, the lilacs are all gone here. Hubby does little things around here, and hopes I will notice. Some things are very special that he does, and others just ordinary, like always fueling the car, bringing me coffee in bed, fixing food for me, doing laundry and dishes from time to time. Yes, he does do things for me, and I do things for him as well.

She loved them. I told her I had a surprise for her on the way home. As we opened the gate in the back yard she was looking all over the garden and flower beds for a surprise. Then her eyes got wide as she opened the back door seeing the vase filled so big. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Webeishere, that was sweet of you! My hubby almost got in trouble on Mother's Day this year, because no card no flowers by the end of the day. My feelings were so hurt...;0(....We went on a trip that weekend, I gave him all kinds of little hints.... in and out of stores... but nope, he did not do anything! Guess what? When we got home, he went out into the yard, cut 12 red long stem roses from our bush, made me a homemade card. Wow, that made me give him a big hug and one of my best smiles! It is not how much you spend, what you get, it is the effort to show someone you love them. Thanks for sharing Grandpa Bob!

I didnt know the scent of Lilacs could last that long. I haven't tried doing it with flowers but I remember that giving my wife a little rose made of glass which is kinda cute. She loved it. Appreciation warms a heart.

My husband likes to take our you son out and help him clip gladiolas from our yard to give to me. I love them so very much. I have a beautiful single stem pink one sitting in a bud vase by my tv at the moment. Love my glads...... and my sweet guys who give them to me.

I use to when we loved each other LOL I do every once in a while. I don't very often because he does not have a romatic bone in his body. I would buy him cards and he would not read them. I would do tiney gestures to show my love and he would not notice. I just gave up then I would not get hurt.

I always did little gestures for my husband when we were together but I have to say that he never did them for me. It would have meant the world. When we were dating, he did do things like that and that is really why I fell in love with him. I remember him making me a tape of all my favorite music or sneaking into my apartment while I was at work and picking up my morning mess and leaving a vase of wild flowers....simple but it meant so much. After all your years of marriage...your wife is a very lucky woman. I'm sure she knows it. I think its the little things that drew you together that are the things that will keep you together.

I love lilacs. I have one light purple lilac and one dark purple lilac tree in my yard. They smell SO good. I'm sad that the blooms are already going away. :(
