Do you start discussions and then do not reply to the responses?

I have seen a lot of discussions started by mylotters for which they have received a reasonable number of responses. But they have not acknowledged even a single response. It is not that they have not been active on mylot. In fact these same members have started a lot of new discussions after that. What do you do. Do you regularly check on the new discussions started by you and respond to all those who have posted replies? Dont you think it is right to reply them and continue the string of conversation? What is your opinion?

Yes, I have also noticed it. Most of the time, I make it a point to check my discussions and try my best to post my comments on the replies received in response to my discussions. Sometimes, I fail to do so, when there is paucity of time. I feel bad, if I am not able to post my comments. But I love posting comments/counter-comments and love to enliven my discussions. Posting comments makes a discussion more lively and interesting. If I notice that someone has posted comments on my reply to his/her discussion, I take a note of it, and try to reply to his/her discussions as much as possible.

Its good to check on the responses received by our discussions and comments and counter comments really makes the discussions a lot of fun. But all mylotters dont believe that. And later they start more new discussions for which they again dont reply. Happy posting.

I agree that when there are too many responses you may miss out one some of them but what when not a single person gets a response. Then we dont even know if the person had read the responses or not.

well i guess i'm one of them right now. i can't respond to them since my time is very limited unlike before. i don't have my own internet connection so i can't respond to all of them. but eventhough i can't respond to them, i make it to a point that i'm still reading their responds on my discussions

Well if you start a discussion I think its only right that you acknowledge everyones responses. Since you say you do not have an interenet connection i think its best you read others discussions and respond to them. And when you start your own everytime you log on atleast acknowledge a few of them.

i always reply and i rate them all too, positve i rate them positive whether i like the answers or not, and i dont mind if the comments that i post in someone elses discussions dont get any replies, im here primarily for the extra income, whether the discussions starters reply nor not i already earn from the posts and that is all that i want

Its good to rate all the discussions. And replying them is all the better. Because I feel that if we continue the string of discussion it makes it all the more lively.

I normally try to respond but if i dont respond to any of them i wait and then post a response to the last one and making it a reply to everyone. if that makes any sense.

I think giving each one an individual response is much better. I feel that when we start a new discussion we should give everyone who responds an individual reply.

I dont think it goes that way. If anybody is interested in the topic an subject matter he would respond. If you are telling this based on your personal experience then your discussion/question is dont attract others interests. Think that way. No ask questions without reason and no one can answer if he dont know.

I am talking about discussions started by other mylotters for which a lot of us have posted responses but they have not been acknoweldged. When I start a discussion I check on all the replies received and acknowledge all of them. Of course sometimes one or two may not receive a reponse. But there are discussions started by other people and they have not acknowledged even a single person.

I try to start discussions when I think about things, and I try when I have to time to respond to every discussion my friends have started. But I have noticed that I don't get a whole lot of responses from the discussions I have started. It's kina annoying and very disheartening.

Great discussion topic...i try to respond to all who reply to my discussions as well and if I don't reply, I rate the discussion. Some replies however to me don't warrant a response, so i woudl rate it and or say thanks for replying to whoever replied.

Where a discussion does not need a reply i acknowledge it with one word or one line. Thats the only way I can let the person know that I have read their post.

hello mayka, when I start a discussion I make sure that I reply to all responses that I get. When I start a discussion, I am seeking the opinion and views of the members so it is just right to acknowledge their responses and thank them for sharing their thoughts and opinion. I don't know what may the reason of others who do not reply to their responses and again start new discussions. They may have a lot of discussions and they no longer have time to check all the responses of their discussions. But for me, being the discussion starter I feel responsible to reply to the responses I receive as courtesy to them. Keep on posting and have a great day!

Yes you are right as a discussion starter you should reply to everyone who has posted a reply to your discussion. I agree that there may be replies that miss us. But what about those who do not respond to even a single person in the entire discussion. Well I am talking about the 15/20 people who have responded to their discussion and not a single has been acknowledged.

We do not start discussions only for that one cent. Its also to get some replies to whatever we have said in the discussion. So if someone replies it is just right that we should acknowledge their replies.

Few people failed to see the beauty of responding to your own discussion. I have been to few forums also but I can't help to respond to a discussion or a respond to mine, the thing there is, it is a forum hence, it is an exchange flow of ideas, opinions, perspectives and point of views. The good thing though with mylot is that whenever you respond to your own discussion, although not counted with the number of responses or user rating it is still in a way contributory to your very earnings, the more heated the discussion was, the more mylot staff acknowledges your participation with the site. That simple. And for some reason, it is one way to acknowledge that you have read, you understand and you listen to their point/s. As you can see you have a considerable number of responses since you replied to those who make the effort of responding to your post. Happy mylotting to you !

I like mylot for the very fact that we can continue with the exchange of ideas on a topic for as long as we want to. Sometimes there is quite a healthy exchange of communication with a particular person on a topic that it is fun. I always reply to all my responders. Sometimes I am a few weeks late but I think all of you will excuse me. I have been starting a lot of discussions lately and have received quite a lot of responses to I am being kept very very busy.

When we start a discussion it is with a hope that we get a lot of replies. Then it is just right that we acknowledge all the responses. Sometimes there are no comments needed but just a Thanx or something. But what i am talking about is where one could give reasonably long replies.

I try to keep a conversation going if it adds to the discussion. I don't see a point in hundreds of 'thanks for your reply' messages, even though I do appreciate all the responses I get it's not abiding to mylot rules to make lots of these posts as you are being paid for them and they do not really add something new to the discussion. It's hard to draw the line somewhere but I try to keep it going and if it's not possible I sometimes decide not to reply to not break any rules.

I believe one should allways try to respond to some of the responses, there have to be at least some that you can relate to, ask something about or discuss on further more. Too bad some people forget this, don't take the effort or have other reasons not to do so. Thanks for making your question about this topic clear so I can respond accordingly :)

Yes out of the hundreds of responses there may be a few where you have nothing to say to them other than thanxs. Thats understood but I was trying to point out to some who have started discussions and got plenty of replies and not acknowledged even a single one of them.

I seldom start discussions here, so there is no need to worry about that but if i had to do then surely i go and comment on the people who had taken time to look through my discussion and replied for it, and i also thank them for it, i feel very encouraged when some reads my discussions, sometimes when i comment it takes to a thread conversation as you have mentioned, where i can also earn and the people who responded can also enjoy replying me..

I do take the time to respond to all my discussions that I have started . I have had some tell me that it is not going to make me any money doing this but I am not doing this for the money when I take the time to respond as I am doing it to be polite . If someone takes the time to respond then I figure I should take the same time to at least acknowledge that I read there response and feel it is polite to say thank you .

I too dont mind putting in the counter comment late if I have not been able to do it earlier. Thanks for joining in the discussion.
