What attracts you to a discussion?

Are there certain friends you always respond to no matter what the topic is? Or are there certain topics you always reply to even if you've seen similar discussions before? Or are you to the point where only a really unique and different discussion catches your attention enough for you to bother to respond? And the opposite? What will keep you from responding to a discussion? My answers after I see your answers. lol

I often wonder attracts others to a discussion, i love when I can finally get a good discussion going and I get lots of responses. I like to respond to smaller openings to the discussion then large ones. I like to read a few lines then respond.

I don't mind long ones, to a point, especially if it's broken down into paragraphs. I don't have the patience to read through a long one that's one huge paragraph though. Yep I wonder too. Sometimes I get one going that I think is really cool and I end up having to PM a friend to respond to it so that I can at least give a best response. Other times I think "well this isn't really all that brilliant but what the heck" and it gets a huge response!

mainly the title first. then i read the whole discussion. if I can make it and think I can contribute my ideas, i generally answer them. even If i answered similar discussion before, i still answer them.

sometimes I do sometimes I don't when it comes to similar discussions, depends on how much I have to say about it!

I think what catches my attention is the topic itself, followed by the short explanation that comes after the topic. Mostly, questions are more catchy than phrases. Because with questions, it's like you need or want to have an answer right away. It's more personal, I guess. I also respond to some of my friend's discussions since, but sometimes it's just really random. What keeps me from responding to a discussion is if the content of the topic doesn't really make any sense at all.

I have seen a few that didn't make sense to me. Usually that's because the English isn't good.

I just look at my main homepage when I log in in MyLot. Then just browse at the available topics presented to me at a glance, then just pick up anything that interests me regardless of who posted it.

I think it basically depends on ones interest, you automatically look out for topics that interest you.It is a personal choice..

Hi dawnald, When friends who are active in all of my post, I am also there in their post even if I have no idea, I will just tell them my honest opinion and for some friends, I am choosing only topics which are related to my interest and when I can relate!

i don't think i can reply to no matter what the topic is. I'd like to respond to the topic which i'm interested in, just like, the trouble i also have, the opinion etc. i guess i'll reply to certain topics even if i've seen similar discusssions before, but,of course, the answer is different. and what about u?

What about me? Well there are certain people I try to visit all the time because their discussions are always interesting. Even if they're not a new, never before heard of topic, they're interesting or funny or something. They have personality. Then there are topics that I will jump all over, like anything to do with cats, shows I like, autism, fibromyalgia, etc. I am very much beginning to avoid repetitive discussions. Maybe the person who's posting it doesn't realize it's been done 100 times before because they're new, but if I've said my piece on the subject (and often more than once), I'm not interested any more.

I respond to discussions if it interests me. It doesn't matter to me if they are my friend's discussion or not. Anyway most of my friends doesn't reply to my discussions but that's ok of course. I refrain from responding to discussions that was already asked before because there is a possibility that the discussion could be deleted.

I didn't know they deleted discussions that were asked before. I've seen a lot of deleted discussions but not for that reason. Usually it's because it's a poll or a word game, or it's about your MyLot earnings, star or number of posts, or it's just a short meaningless thing that's either asking a yes/no question or making some kind of a smart remark.

I guess I'm just being careful. I mean discussions that are very much similar like what pizza you like or what is the best Ice Cream for you. Something like that. It's also boring to answer these type of questions over and over again

Yep it's hard, you have to go back through them one by one pretty much. And no guarantee that there was a reply to your reply.

It's harder when you don't get e-mail notifications. But I actually turned mine off, they were flooding my inbox. Couldn't keep up with them.

Thats true but i'm talking about when someone starts a discussion..you answer and then get no notifys about that..so you don't know who left you a funny comment or what till you remember which discussions you were at an now its to late..phewwwwww..lol..

I think I am a combination of all of the above. There are for sure certain people that I respond to no matter what their discussion topic is but there is also the ones from my intersests that I like to respond to. Mainly I just respond to any discusion no matter what it is. There are some thatdont catch my attention at all but theyre mainly the ones who ask for a yes or no answer.

Generally if I don't know anything at all about a topic I won't reply. Other than that, almost anything is fair game unless I've seen it over and over and over again.

I am mostly looking for topics which are interesting for me at that certain moment. But sometimes happens to me that I found the topic which look interesting for me and when I start to post my reaction I suddenly realize I do not know what to say..lol. But I could say I mostly prefer topics from my interests and form my friends too but do not respond at all costs. I usually do not answer the one line discussions, because the publisher did not put enough effort to the topic, so I think it mostly does not deserve respond:)

I respond to a topic when I have a say on it. I don't like responding if I am not in the mood. I reply if I know something about it. Interesting topics can also attract me. I also like questions that are easy to answer and does not require me to think hard.

The discussion should appeal to me. It should make me expand my view and think about it before I make a move and post a response. I find it hard to respond to all discussions no matter what they are for. I do not respond to all of my friend's discussions but I make sure that I reply to the ones I think I should. bourne

I always respond to a discussion that i am interest with and i can relate like personal experience. Something that can help me to be a better person, and inspire me to do more more good thing and stuff. I like to respond on the hot topic for it is usually easy to reply and doesnt need and expert opinion. I like to respond on my friend started for they usually have the same interest like me. I like to respond to no responses so that i can get my best response for no body answer the discussion expect me.

I don't go to the hot topics so much myself unless I have something new to add. If they're on 'hot' or 'top' usually there are already so many responses that I have nothing to add.

Me? Well, I like to respond to discussions that interest me, topics that I am familiar with or topics that I feel I can add too with a bit of knowledge. I do try to respond to discussions friends start, but again only if I think I can intellegently add something. LOL

it is mostly the topic and the way that it is represented that attracts me and i can honestly guess what it is going to be about by just looking at the title and i hope most can. and if i had seen a similar discussion before than i will read the whole description and then decide whether to respond or not as most people copy the title but they introduce something new in the description and ask for new or different ideas.

I always pay attention to my first sight feeling. When I look through the topics, I will catch the most impressive topic. That is to say, I will be interested in the ones that I love and that I think they are easy for me. Moreover, those topics can make me say something that I want to say. That's it.
