How many telephones do you have in your home. Besides my cell phone I have one Panasonic cordless phone, one corded phone in the kitchen, one corded phone in the bedroom, one corded phone in the front room and a corded phone in the basement. Good Grief I should never miss a call. That's five phones plus a cell phone.

I have eight plus mine and my hubby's cell phones. I have one in the living room, one in the kitchen, one in my master bedroom, one in my master bathroom, one in my hubby's home office, and one in each of our 3 spare bedrooms. They are all cordless. We just don't like to have to carry a phone around the house and we don't like having to run too far to catch one that is ringing. LOL!

I have a corded phone upstairs and one downstairs. I have a cordless phone plugged in downstairs, plus I have my cell phone. My cell is a prepay so I only use it when I am away from home and the kids or grandkids need me. I use the cordless the most. What the heck did we do before cordless phones and touch tones. It was heck dialing over and over when the line was busy. Remember those days??

ha ha ha Oh yeah I remember those days, I'm sure we got more done and on the days when the wash didn't get hung you knew darn well someone was listening on the party line. Growing up we didn't have a phone till I was probably 10 years old and I remember how my parents would get so agitated when Mrs. busy body would listen in on their conversations with my grandparents. Oh man those really were the good old days. Thanks for the refresher I needed that.

Oh and I forgot to tell you we had the crank you had to turn to make a call. Our ring was two long and one short, so when the phone rang you had to listen to the ring to see if it was your call.

We have one cordless with two extension receivers as well as two cell phones. That's all we need, thank goodness. You must have a nice large house in order to have 5 phones.

You sound like me! I have 3 cell phones, 2 cordless phones (one in the dining room and one in the living room), and 3 corded phones (1 in the dining room, one in the living room, and one in my daughter's room). AND there is a jack for a phone in my bedroom, but I don't have one hooked up in there. This house is small enough that I don't need all of these phones, but I'd rather have them than not. LOL

That's me too. I need to be able to get to the phone in time to answer. I'd never be able to not have a phone in my bedroom because that's where my computer is and where I do my visiting on the phone. Hubby always has the TV so loud I can't hear myself think.

I have far too many phones in this house, but not all of them are hooked up. I have the one cell phone, and 4 landline phones hooked up. 2 of the landlines are cordless phones, 2 are not, and then I have another 2 cordless phones that I haven't hooked up yet (I need to figure out which 2 phones have the most battery power, and use them).

I have one landline phone in the bedroom and one cell phone wherever I left it That's enough telephones for me, since I usually don't answer the phone anyways. I let the answering machine do that
• Canada
22 Oct 08
Oh I couldn't do that. None of my friends or family like an answering machine so I'd never get any messages. I do like my corded phones because I have name and number display on them.

Two old phones (with cords attached! How low tech!), one cordless phone (our main phone) and one cell phone (shared between all of us for emergencies only). That's it!

Low tech, that made me laugh, you're hillarious, I love a sense of humor. Pushing all jokes aside it's about what works for each of us and for me with the slow speed I operate in I need more than one or two phones. God made us all different. That's a good thing. Thank You for your reply.

I have three cordless phones in my house, dining room, living room and upstairs craft room (or junk room). I do not leave my cell on as it is a pay as you go, and costs quite a bit per minute. I like my tracfone, though, because it gives me cell phone access without the monthly bills.

We have 2 phones. One so we cal walk around and travel with it, it's battery powered and comes in handy when one or the other of us is upstairs. The other phone is used for back up when the power goes out or the battery runs out. You have 6 phones? My husband hates phones, but we need them so we have 2. We only had one, but during a power outage, our phone didn't work and if we had needed to call for help, we wouldn't have been able to. Or so I thought. My husband had a phone packed away that was supposed to be sold in a rummage sale. I had told him not to sell it because we needed a back up for emergencies. So we've had the two phones since. I can't see us getting any more phones. But one to use for emergencies in my car would be nice since we work 25 miles away from home. But we can't afford another phone right now. Just have to hope we don't have any breakdowns.

I don't get around very fast so I basically need a phone in every room. My husband always says he hates a phone too, yet whenever he's home and it rings he's right there to get to answer it first. Too funny.

We have the ringers on loud so my husband can hear it. So two is quite enough for me. I would go out of my hearing and mind if we had any more. My husband doesn't even want to answer the phone, his motto is, "Let the answering machine get it, that's what we bought it for." So your husband is an amature phone hater, my husband is a professional. He wants one more phone, for the bedroom upstairs, told him it had better light up, if I was from a sound sleep, I'll freak. He said he would turn the ringer off, some of them now, I don't think you can, so he'd better check. Yes, with a phone at each end of our small house, I don't have to move very fast, unless I'm upstairs and then I remember my husband's motto, let the answering machine get it. Take care.
