Hi mylotters is it only me that is sick of some mylotters saying ugly things about democrats, and ugly things about republicans, thus dividing mylot into two growling parties here? I mean one does not even dare to say who she is voting for without fear for her life here, well maybe not that bad,but still her wellbeing and joy in being here. Is the idea of forcing others to vote your way so darned compelling you can no longer be civil with it? What happened to mylots suggestion we all respect each others opinions as ours and not try to badger the other person into changing her vote?

I do notthink it is only just about this election. People seem very agngry about eveything lately. I mean sometimes you are afraid to open your mouth with an opposing view on anything. It seems instead of becoming more tolerant of differences, we are bcoming more self centered. I saw a few religion topics and they were getting crazy with the "better follow my religion or you are doomed" postings. Wow, how sad is that I thought religion was suppsed to teach love and tolerance! What is the world coming to?

Yes, that is so scary! You are afraid to speak your views. Part of the problem, on here is, that it is anonymous, at least those who are the offenders. Ones who remain anonymous seem to be the nastiest with the biggest mouths. I will start giving negatives to nasties!

I can careless what anybody says, I truly believe it is so heated this time around because of the racial aspect! I've been through the last 3 elections and paid attention and none ever had this much attention and focus on it. The Gore/Bush came close, but this is totally sickening! U can't tell me race is not what's making this campaign that much more dramatic, deny if u want to, what's real is real! Taripre$

I am so very sick and tired of this mess also.. This election is getting so very out of hand.. I will tell you right now who I am voting for... ___________________ and that is all that I am saying about it.. We all have a right to one vote and one vote only, it should be done in an election booth on election day.. But you are right, this one is getting out of hand.. We take the one vote too far and then we have our opinion, then we disagree with someone else, but as long as we each one have a right to that one vote that belongs to us, then everyone else should let it go, after all it is our vote, no one elses..

No you are not the only one sick of it. This whole country is a mess, especially because of the division and disrespect. We are suppose to be one whole people, but at the same time every person has their own opinion and won't agree on everything. Why not accept the facts, get alone and be happy?..

I am really sorry to hear of the hardships you and your son had to endure. I am glad to hear that you have found someplace for you to be settled and cared for. I do pray that your son will find what he is looking for. I have to admit that I am one of the lucky ones. I turned 70 in April and am still living happy and contented in my own home with my three little dogs.

It looks like politics is slowly seeping into mylot as Americans are in the heat of their presidential election campaign. We from the other end of the world are only spectators to one on this great American presidential election and a new chapter in history is about to unfold when a new American president is announced. This time around it is going to be an interesting one as a new breed of candidate is about to emerge as the hopeful president of America. In general political campaigns are all parallel everywhere in the world. The political leaders are going around campaigning using the 'fear card' to demand something from the voters; their precious votes. How long can our leaders keep us in a state of fear? What damage is this fear having on our bodies? Fear is a powerful emotion – people do brutal acts because of fear. Revolutions are started in the name of fear. This is the most important thing to do about this – when you go to vote in November, don’t vote for a person out of fear. Vote for them out of hope and change and pray that the person you voted for can deliver on the hope and the change.

As an outsider we watch with with excitement the election of the president of this great country of opportunities, America, and how it would influence the world at large economically and politically. The Americans should stand united in voting for the right candidate not only for the true children of America but for world peace which this nation has great influence.

Politics is a hot button for alot of people. With so many people worried about one thing or another. And each believing they are correct. Hatley, all I can say is whether I agree with your opinion or not, I will respect your right to have it. Hopefully enough others will feel the same way.

I agree with you. It is one thing after another. As soon as someone hears something negative on the news, they quickly post it here. things like, I bet if it were Obama, blah blah blah, or McCain this or that. It seems like Mylotters are taking on the negative antics that the media does, to divide people. A lot of negative things that are happening are done by individuals who do not like the other party and wants to make them look bad. I do not pay attention to any of it. I do not like the finger pointing and name calling and the hatred that has become daily here on Mylot. We are all fighting for the same things, equality and a descent and properous life. I hope we all get back on track soon.

Hi hatley, Yes you are so right! But it is almost over! Just another week to go and maybe it will get back to "normal"? around here? Politics always seems to bring out the worst in people and this year it sure has done exactly that. I was doing pretty well keeping my distance from those political discussions for the most part but I did stumble into a few as of late and boy was I ever sorry! There doesn't seem to be a way to keep it civil. It just automatically seems to get out of hand! So I am going to try again to keep away from them until this is over and done with!

I am tired of all the immature fighting and name calling. Come on people, be adults. It's getting sad that you can't discuss politics for fear of being called racist or sexist. Everyone has their own opinions and we need to respect that. Besides, if you want to convince someone your candidate is better then use logic, not name calling. What are we teaching our kids if we physically threaten people who have a different opinion than us? We might as well all meet after school on the playground to beat the crap out of each other because Heaven forbid we have an intelligent discussion about such things.

It happens in my country as well. WE are adapting the American style of politics when importance is given to the two leaders and sometimes it gets personal and nasty. Supporter of both political parties try to convince you to convert to their politics and vote for their party. I believe that respect must come before any political affiliations. © ronaldinu 2008

No, Hatley, it's not only you! I've been through Presidential campaigns when it's gotten a bit ugly but never like this one! I guess the best thing to do is to simply ignore those who can't be respectful of others' opinions. Now, if only I could follow my own advice but sometimes I can't help myself...lol! Annie

Thanks Hatley for pointing out how ugly this election has become. I always knew politics was a dirty business, however it seems to have no boundaries anymore. I've had enough of the Republican senators, I've had enough of the Democratic senators, I'd really like to see some UNITED STATES senators for a change. It's time to stop accusing, finger pointing, blaming, etc. Even my kids don't argue as much.

I am not an American so I am neither pro Democrats nor pro Republican. But even then... I got your good point here. I don't think Politics should divide myLot. Let us respect each other's choices of candidates. We all have the right of choice so why malign or force others to believe in your candidates. Let us just leave each other when it comes to politics. Of course we can share our opinion why we choose this and choose that but let's just keep the discussion healthy by being polite and respectful! Let us not fight! Afterall those politicians will not die for us!

Thanks as I agree!! I do not care who you vote for, as long as you vote and do it armed with information!! That is persecution when you punish someone for their free will, something our forefathers fought that right!! I have noticed that when I post my political view, my rating goes down! Amazing. And I am not nasty. But I find some people, if they do not agree with me, give me a minus. How immature is that? I always give a plus, even if it is an opposing view. Well, I will not lower myself to their level, that is all!
