Well this week I have received an anonymous call from Italy. Since I could not make up whom it was I decided to call. I was greeted by an answering machine saying that I have received U service and if I wanted a female I should press number 1. I just quit the phone immediately. It was a waste of money. Next time that I receive an anonymous call I will just ignore it. What would you do?

Ron, its always better to ignore anonymous calls, because we just tend to spend money unnecessarily. If that p erson is interested in talking to us, he will call back. Its sad, you had to waste money on an internatinal call. Well, we all learn from our mistakes. Cheerio.

Hi ya ronaldinu Usually I will just ingnore it because if it was someone trying to get hold of me then they will try again. If the number comes up as withheld then there is nothing you can do about it anyway. Most people that call are trying to sell something anyway so I don't really want to pay for a phone call to find that out!!

I am sorry it didn't turn out well. But live and learn I guess. I had something similar happen to me. And now I just ignore them too.

I would ignore things like that. Since you called though you will be charged for that call. I would call the phone company and tell them about it and tell them to take the charges off of my phone because it was a scam.

lol =D Since u already say u dun have any frenz or relatives in italy, den why will u wanna call the number for?? And do u understand italian?? IF not, why would u wanna waste the money to call when u dun even understand their language.. lol =D I think if this is a scam call, u are very likely to fall for it, and that if they din mention gals, but mention money instead, i think u might go all the way for it.. lol

Yes, it's always worth remembering that curiousity could really kill a cat! I also do not mind anonymous callers. I mean if their call is really urgent, they will not stop contacting me. Why should I bother to call them back if I don't even know who they are. They should rather take the effort to call me again so they could talk to me. In fact once I talk to them and sense that there is something fishy, I always cut short the conversation. I can't waste time with them.

I usually ignore anonymous call since more often they are telemarketer who wanted to sell there product and it is very annoying coz even if you refuse to talk with them they still try hard to convince you. Most of the time i look at the caller id and if i dont know the number i ignore the call.

yes, there are many such calls. Some one just calls for a few second, let your phone rings for one time or twice, and then hang up immediately. And then you may think the call is important, and you may call back, once you call back, you pay high fare. I seldom call back to those unknown numbers. If they really want to call us, they will call again until we answer. There is a film called Curiosity killed the cat in our country, a nice film.

Of course if you had my number you could call Italy and hear a female voice immediately without having to press number 1

No I wouldn't do what the person said on the other end of the phone it would make me highly suspicious of who they were and what they wanted..so would leave it alone...littleowl

That's an interesting phone call. Well it really depends if you are absolutely curious about something, you would at least try to do something to satisfy your curiosity like what you did right? So it really depends on the situation. It could be an emergency phone call for all you know. So I might have done the same thing to check it out but I'll make sure I'll take note of the phone number in case it's something else that I didn't expect. So that the next time it happens I'll be sure not to callback.

I do not give out my cell number to anyone whom I do not know, so if their name does not come up on my phone (I have all of their names in my phone), I will not pick up. I do have a lot of minutes that I hardly use a percentage of, but I figure that they will leave a message, at worst, and if it was a wrong number, I will text them to let them know it was a wrong number so they are not angry when that person does not call them back, lol.
