I needed a break on Sunday

I needed a break from the computer on Sunday and I needed to get out of the house. I went out for supper and enjoyed myself, but I paid the price when I got home. Yesterday I was sore all day, but I got so far behind in my emails, it took the whole day and I still didn't catch up. Today I am not caught up yet. To think I was only gone a few hours? Do you find that if you are only away from you computer for a day or less you have a hard time catching up? Do you try to catch up or delete everything? I don't delete anything that pays money unless I am just too far behind.

I am only away from my computer a few hours at a time and I'm so far behind that it's not even funny. Now with Christmas vacation coming up with my kids and a new puppy, I don't even know if I ever will be able to catch up. I can't complain about the cold weather compared to where you live, but I can't wait for Spring to get here. Plus maybe with more sleep, I will be able to get more done including everything around my house. Only time I delete anything even if I could get paid, is when it doesn't relate to me and I don't know anything about that subject.

well I don't read some of the newsletters I get when I don't have time etc and I do just what I have to do, yep it can really get out of hand at times, and so I delete when it happens.

I am like you, I just keep trying to catch up. I would love to get caught up, but I just keep getting further and further behind. I have 1200 emails to catch up on. Good luck to you.

oh I delete when it is totally out of control and I see that I am not able to catch up, but when it is only a day then I can catch up, like today I will be finished catching up and that took me two days to do it. If I didn't have the time then I would just delete.

Sorry to hear that winterose. I know how it is to get behind. Right now i have 918 mail in my inbox and that is after I sorted it out and what is left is Mylot mail that I got behind on and I haven't deleted none yet because I am behind I just diligently shovel through what I can daily. Even though more keeps arriving daily. I answer the new discussions first because they are at the top. I know I need to work harder but I have only set times I can be online at this time. So I guess soon it will be my nose to the grind stone.

I am going to try, but realize may have to delete some of them. It would take weeks to catch up. Tonight I'm trying to lower them.

I do take a break on sundays otherwise it becomes difficult for me to carry on for the next week. I agree with you that it becomes hard to catch up on mondays , but then I've to delete some of the mails. If I stress too much I am unable to give proper response to my friends. Don't you think body needs one day rest to rejuvenate?

I have to maximize my time because I rely on all income from online to live on, so it is rare I take breaks, every now and then I do like I did on Sunday because I really needed it.

Yes I always experience that especially on Sundays. I need to go to church on Sundays to attend our worship service and to do a lot of paper works there. (I'm a church officer) As expected, my emails are over-flowing.... Luckily, I get to respond and finish all the discussions that I received.. Thank God!

now that i am back to work part time, i have very little time on the computer and i dont spend a lot of time on mylot either. it will take more than a month to make payout on here! i find that if i am away from yahoo for more than a day, it gets crazy because i belong to a freecycle organization in my city.

Hi winterose, I've been inactive for a lot of weeks already and with over 500 friends, I have tons of mails but I am deleting some of them since it talks about earning and politics which I don't like to join with! I am still coping this time day by day but unlike before, I can type for 4-5 hours without long break, I am tired this time and I get destructed easily!

I also feel the same way. If it is going to make me money no way is it going to be deleted. However, it might be that you get a lot of junk mail like I do. I can tell by the sender if I need to read or discard right away.

I relax when I don't have much work to day, but I can always find work to do on the net, it is how I pay my bills.

I think that you should start taking more breaks. Computers and techonlogy are what are runing the true quality of life. The world was not made for you to sit on the computer all day, and I definitely think that it should be an everyday occasion to get out of the house and do something. The computer should be your relaxing time. There's so much more to life than the internet .. South Park will make you aware of that . Try and find the episode of when the boys of South Park become addicted to World of Warcraft, and just the things they say show you how ridiculous we are as people to be addicted to computers. It's really funny actually.

you don't know anything about me, and why I am in the house, I am unable to go out most of the time I am disabled, that is why I work from home, I cannot even work outside the home and I work on the computer because that is what I can do.

I only try to do what I can. There isn't a need to beat yourself over not being able to read and respond to every discussion. I do what I can. I know that it would pay me to respond to every discussion, but time doesn't allow me.

I am not beating myself up over it, I am only asking as a discussion because we have to find discussions to write about if other people have that much email if they are just away from their computer for a few hours or a day at most hon,

I do feel that I get far behind, not so much in emails but in reciprocating reads from people who read my stuff and comment on sites like this one and Gather. I also get kind of frustrated because I have not had the proper amount of time to write reviews, or post questions, and discussions. I also have a business where I sell things over the internet, and I don't like getting behind in processing orders. I don't have a lot of emails coming to me that earn me points or money, just a few, so it is not usually difficult to get to those, and get them done. But there is a lot of other online stuff to catch up with.

Hi Carol, I know just how you feel. I went out yesterday evening with my sis and ate dinner and went to Walgreens. I was also only gone for a couple of hours and you would have thought I was gone all day. I had emails piled up, MyLot responses that needed to be done, my blogs to update and I still hadn't fed the pups yet. I am still playing catch up today. I REALLY hate being gone all day for something. I feel so bad when I come home and work like the dickens to try to get caught up and I never seem to. I guess you could say I am "addicted" to my computer. Happy MyLotting! Char
