Have you played Rock Band or Guitar Hero?

We played Rock Band when we stayed at my sister's house recently, yesterday our kids used their Christmas money to buy Guitar Hero, and my husband bought an extra guitar. We had a party yesterday and they were playing late in to the evening.
Have you ever played? What instrument to you like to play? I mostly sing, I tried the drums and guitar and was terrible.

I've played both of them but not the new ones that they have just came out with. I don't think that either game is really an accurate simulation of playing a real instrument. There are only five buttons on the guitar where as a real guitar has six strings and normally at least twenty frets. The game is fun but still I would recommend kids to pick up a real instrument instead of a plastic controller if they really want to experience the real music deal.

I've played both. I play guitar so playing the plastic one just didn't feel the same. I play drums too so that was a bit easier but everybody started on beginner and I wanted to play expert. I had more fun singing than anything.

We just played it again and I sang. The reverb was driving me crazy though. I could hear my own reverb coming back at me and the games singing in the background, it made it difficult to hear myself. But it was fun. I learned that I can sing White Wedding in my own voice (not tryting to immatate Billy Idol, and I actually sounded pretty good.

sorry no to any of your questions, I never really got into rock. I prefer motown music and blues.

Well, yes.... I have played! I love playing Rock Band. It is one of my favorite things to do. I really like to sing and play the guitar. I absolutely cannot play the drums. It is so hard! My son is very good at it. It is fun! I can't wait to get Rock Band 2.

My nephews have the games and Ihave played both guitar hero and rock band. I am not bad playing gutair hero on the easy setting. With rock band I loved playing the drums.
I would have to say they are both very fun games to play and as you say are great family fun and gets everyone into the party mood.

I play way too much Rock Band. I can play most songs on drums on expert. I can play some songs on guitar on expert. I can sing every single song in the game on expert. I can 100% numerous songs (but not on guitar). I gold star songs frequently on the drums and vocals.
I have just over 110 downloadable songs. I spent way too much money on this game. I am addicted.
I can also drum and sing at the same time both on expert.
