Cell phones, almost everyone has one now, but sometimes new and improved technology is not worth all of the hype. I have broken or lost many cell phones I can't even remember the total now. This discussion came to mind today, as I got a call from a friend asking me if she left her cell phone at my place.... No such luck. It wouldn't be so bad, if it was just a phone that she needed, but, she has her personal contact lists with names and phone numbers, as well as a calendar on the phone. In a nutshell she has lost more than her cell phone she's lost her address book and her daily planner. What about you? Have you lost or misplaced your cell phone? Did you drop it in the toilet? (sadly, I have done that!) Do you use your cell phone to store addresses and telephone numbers? Would you be able to function without your cell phone or would you be lost and not know where to go next? As always your comments are appreciated.

I have lost or broke so many cell phones over the past years that I am not sure that I could count the number of phones that I have had. One time I am not sure if I set in on top of the car or if it just fell out of my pocket on the ground but ran over it with the car and it was in millons of pieces.I got mine wet while I was at the beach and salt water really is not good for your phone. It dried out but the salt was left and it ended up ruining everything that was on the phone so there was nothing they could get off of it for me so I lost everything that was on it. I had a customer at where I work steal my phone and I never ended up getting back and the phone wasn't a real nice one so I just dropped it and got a new one. I have sent my phones sliding across parking lots, falling down stairs, and many other things.

Hi there, wwill I can certainly relate to your posting I'm a wheelchair user and so I'm forever running over my cell phone with my chair tires and not the car but the result is the same. I think they need to build them all a bit stronger to be able to withstand all the abuse we give them! Thanks for the comments and happy Mylotting!

My 3year old daughter broke 2 cellphones, she dropped it on the floor and when I tried to press the ON it doesn't work anymore. I actually lost 2 cellphones in a public vehicle I didn't notice it was drop from my pant's pocket.

I have been very lucky when it comes to cell phones. I have only had one break on me since I started using them. However my daughter has gone through so many that I can not even count. We always have more than one here for her. That way we can just cancel out the phone she was using and have another one set up in the same day.

None. But it might not be that much of a virtue. I looked after my cellphone so well that I had the same phone for almost four years - all you early adapters, feel free to groan in dismay - and had to change eventually when the battery became unreliable. The funniest moment was probably when I had a call on from a telemarketeer wanting to sell me a phone. He wanted to know what phone I had and I told him. He sounded very shocked, like he had just stumpled upon a dinosaurus or something.

Well, I had my first cell for almost 2 yrs then decided to upgrade to a "better" version. That phone, about a year later, would no longer charge and I even tried getting a new battery. No luck, so I had to buy a new phone. Then, that one got crushed when I dropped it. So I'm now on my 4th phone. Not bad, I think.

I have only lost one cell phone, and it was the first phone I had. I was in the garden studying for my exam and I had put the phone on the table. After a while I wanted to go back inside the house for a moment to pick up a few books that I needed. I left my brand-new phone on the table and went inside. When I returned my phone was gone...and I found it in the mouth of my puppy. The phone was completely ruined, it didn't look like a phone any more

No I have not lost my cell phone. I use it to store telephone numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses. I just can't function any thing without my cell phone. Recently when I was giving my exams, I use to keep my cell phone on my room. I was very odd feeling that my cellphone was not in my pocket.

its true nowdays cell phones do play a very importnat role in our lives.fortunately i have never misplaced or lost my cell phone anywhere.i hope it doesnot even happen ever to me.i am extra possessive about my cell phone.i donot even let even as single scratch come on it.i always keep my cell phone in its case or cover and by chance even if i forget to put cover on it i make sure that i keep it in the purse where there are no sharp things kept in that pocket.i never carry my cell in the bathroom.

Fortunately I haven't lost or killed any of my mobile phones. Let's just say that there were some mobiles which were incompatible with me! I am particularly incompatible with the Nokia brand. In the past, I owned 3 Nokia mobiles and all the three of them just stopped working after only one year. It's not that I had maltreated them, although there were a few events where they risked to break up, get wet or heated up, but I did take care of them overall. So I decided to change brand for good, and it resulted that I found my perfect match. I have 2 samsung mobiles for over 4 years and are still working perfectly well today!

I only Killed one. My first cell was a StarTAC. I was talking on the phone then it started raining so hard. I had a waterproof jacket with a front pocket so I put it there and zipped it. when I reached school I wanted to talk on the phone again I reached to get it and found it soaking wet, and it was dripping water. it looked very funny. it never worked again.

I'm not sure what my official cell phone count is but I know that I've sure killed my share of cellphones in my day. I think I'm up to about five or six but it could be more or less. I lost a bunch of them and broke some of them as well. Others I just had to switch service or something. Either way I've had some bad luck with cell phones in the past.

I have good luck with my cell phones. I've never even really broken any, they're all so durable! It's odd because I've put them through hell and they're still fine. I've only had about 3 or 4. One was replaced because I had lost it, but that's the only bad reason I got a new one. My sister though has been through 8 or 9 in two years time. She always drops hers, or wears them out from texting, or drops them in water. The funny thing is I do things like that as well, and nothing happens. I dropped my cell phone off a cliff at night while camping and thought it was gone. On our hike back the next morning I found it and it was fine. A few scratches but that was it. Another one, I dropped in the toilet (just like my sister who had to replace hers) After a few hours of drying off it was just fine! Just my luck I suppose ;)

So far I have only lost one phone. It was my nokia 6630 with all data in it. It was stolen in the house. One day my mother in law took a maid to my house. She thought I would need a maid. It seemed to she and my wife were not at all suspicious of her. So they just let her come into the living room and without us asking her to do anything, she grabbed a broom and started to sweep the floor. After a while she asked for a permission to go out for a while to buy medicine. She said she was having a headache. We let her go, giving her some money for the medicine. We waited, and waited and she did not turn up. After one hour I wanted to phone a friend but how shocked I was. The phone wasn't there.
