Well being Easter we went to our daughters for lunch/dinner. Our son came over and we drove him there as well. We all had a blast. I found out that I can't play with the grandkids like I played with my own kids. This old tired body dies off fast from lack of energy etc. But the 3 grandkids and I had a blast playing at the park and then at home on their trampoline. Discussions to follow on Monday as I now need to recooperate this old body of mine. We had ham, corn, mashed taters, skin on, applesauce, pinnaple slices, biscuits, various pickles, olives, a dish of green beans with dried onions and cheese I think, etc. A large lunch/dinner. How was your Sunday? Did you celebrate Easter and did you go anywhere or have relatives over for a big meal?

I had a great Easter. My hubby made the ham, I made the mashed potatoes, corn, hot rolls, jellow salad, and a cream cheese pie. We had my two sons over with the 5 grandkids, My two daughters that live out of town were not able to come with the other 4 grandkids.

We used to do the holidays at our house.
But lately it's been our daughter.
We don't have to cook now for the family.
Kind of miss it but it's easier this way though.
Well, at least you had some of the family over.

We slept in, then went to church. Loved the service. Sad that I am still fighting a bronchial issue and could not sing with the choir. I love Easter music, but do not like coughing. My daughter in law made a ham, and I made side dishes. We ate a lot, hid eggs for the grandson inside, because of the rain. I have been at home all afternoon, thinking about what I should be doing, but mostly on the computer or cleaning up the fridge. Good weekend for me. I will get more discussions up soon as well.

Bummer. I have bronchial asthma and cough all too much with my smoking as well. We did not hide eggs for the grandkids. My daughter had planned on it and I have nmo idea as to why though. Good you still had a great time even without singing.

I went to church this morning and then my dad called and said they had a lot of ham from my stepmom's birthday party on Saturday. Her birthday was Friday and dad took us both out to Red Lobster as my bday was the 12th and hers was the 10th. That was great! Then today I went to help them eat the leftovers from Saturday and brought home a lot of ham!
I'm glad you had a wonderful day. Yes, it's irritating when we can't do what we used to but we must adapt and do the best we can. The children understand.
God bless you this year and always.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Happy Easter! It sounds like you had a great
time! I'm sure the kids gave you quite a workout! And eating
all that food makes you tired too! I cooked all day and now
I'm exhausted too! It was just me and my boyfriend, but I
made a turkey, yams, stuffing, corn, biscuits, gravy and salad!
It just makes such a mess with all that cooking! So now I am
stuffed and can't move! I'm glad you enjoyed the day!

Well, my roommate and I stayed at home and he made a huge ham for two people. Mashed potatoes and green beans and I got to make Deviled eggs and a salad. While the ham was cooking we went out to see where to put the new part of the garden and then off we went to homedepot and got cow poo
and dirt to add to garden. Don't worry didn't burn down the house we did remember to check on ham. So yes had a 11.9 pound Ham for two people. He said well your son was going to be here. I said no he lives here he eats at his girlfriends house after all he is 19. And where do you find a 19 year old man with a 18 year old woman. So yeah cold Ham he will eat just so he can be with her. You have a good day. Your friend onlydia

I was invited to my landlords' whose son I go around with. We had baked ham, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, scalloped pineapple (like a bread pudding), carrot salad and two pies (coconut cream and rice). I didn't eat the carrot salad or any pie, but enjoyed all the rest except the green beans. Just me - they were al dente and I like mine "mooshy". Oh, and really good baked beans - had seconds of beans with my meat and then thirds on the meat. Good stuff!! A little bit ago, I had some tapioca pudding with Reddy Whip. More good stuff. I'm still full and we were done eating by 4:30 - it's 9:10 now. I love ham. I wish my daughter liked it. I'd have it more often.

My dad's in town and it's been nice having him here for Easter. I can tell he's not moving like he used to either.
I'm sure once he get's back home he's gonna have to rest himself.

I'm glad that you had a really good time. My mom and step-dad came over for a bit and they went to eat breakfast and went home. We worked out in the yard and got the swimming pool opened up for the year. We just cooked some hamburgers and brauts on the grill for my husband and I. My daughter went out on a date.

we went out to the roomie's folks, and invited along the mother of a friend who was having to work
Mind you, this mom is closer to my age than the friend is, only about 11 years older than I am while the daughter is closer to 15 years younger.
So, I thought it was a shame for her to sit around her daughter's apartment when she could be out visiting friends...
we had ham, and turkey, and stuffing, and potato salad, deviled eggs, veggies, beans and I am STUFFED - STILL!

We had planned to bbq out on the patio for Easter but then weather people said we were going to have heavy rain, high winds, hair and possible tornado's so we bought roast to cook. My daughter and grandson was going to come on Friday but she was not feeling well and waited until Saturday morning to leave and got here in the afternoon. Yesterday for Easter it turned out that we only had a little small rain shower but our roast, little potaotes, carrots, green beans, deviled eggs and rolls were delicious. We all eat and enjoyed it very much.

It sounds like you had a good Easter. I went to church with my mom and my family, we had a big church dinner afterwards, everybody was passing out candy, they were going to have a egg hunt for the kids but it was raining, so they just gave them candy. Later, I met my husband at some friends house, and we visited with them awhile and watched movies and ate, again...ha. It was a good day for me too...

Good to hear you had a great meal and day with your grandchildren. I did not have a big dinner. I went to church for sunrise service at 6:00 AM, then we had breakfast at church, then Sunday School and then the regular service at 10. I had left over ham which my husband ate for diner, and I made myself ground beef and spaghetti. We watched Slumdog Millionaire afterwards. It was a rather quiet day.
