We are still in our vacation in Hainan. We don't wear the masks at all, even if when we were in the airport. Since we are on the vacation, we hardly know the situation of H1N1 at present. We have many schedules everyday and I even seldom turn on the computer when we are back. I just pay attention to our diet so that we won't get any troubles. As I think today it'll be a big trouble if you have fever and is checked in the airport.

I have not been traveling lately. With the flu scare going around, I decided I will not travel unless it is absolutely necessary for personal or business reasons. I don't know yet ! Depending on where I am going, I may have to wear mask.

As flu goes this is an easy one, not nearly as deadly as many of the strains that go around every year that many still do not get the shots to prevent. I do not worry about it much as I am around travelers often and enjoy visiting family aften no matter the time of year. My daughter the nurse say just wash you hands often and if traveling and worried use clorox wipes on things you are concerned about.

I am not very updated with the news either, I get too preoccupied with work. But nobody here in our country is wearing masks yet. So I think we do not have that many cases of H1N1. I think only those in selected countries, the ones with more cases of the sickness are recommended to wear masks.

Morning, youless. I went to Hangzhou on business for a few days and got back the night before. When I were traveling with my five students, we did not wear any masks. We did not see anyone wearing masks as it is safe in Zhejiang Province. I am glad that I am back to school safely and healthily though the trip was tiring.
I guess that you are having a wonderful journey in Hainan Province together with your family.
Yesterday there was a suspect of H1N1 in Guangdong Province. He is a 59-year-old man who has just returned from his travel to Canada and was found to be having a high fever when he got to the airport. Now he is staying in a hospital in Guangzhou for treatment and what is good to hear is that he is getting recovered. I hope that he will be well soon.
Enjoy your trip and take care, youless.

youless,
I think it would be better to take some precautions during travels but let's not forget about personal hygiene like washing of hands, avoid crowded places and keeping our house well ventilated and clean.
It would be better that we do not self medicate but to consult a doctor as we may never know if we actually caught the flu strain. Also, we should never overlook and ignore our surroundings and environment.
Take care.

As you know I am in the UK and I don't tend to do much travelling well certainly not out of the country, last time I flew was 2007 to Rhodes and I have no travel plans within the distant future, not because of the swine flu but because even before it all kicked off I wasn't planning to fly anywhere. But even if I did fly I wouldn't wear the mask, even if I had one, I think seeing people with masks is scary and could send people into panic mode!

No, I do not wear a mask when I travel That mostly is to keep others from getting sick if you are sick. I too try to watch what I eat. I am really healthy usually so I am not worried about h1n1.

I am not worried about the new disease of the day. I just go about my life, and know that if something happens, I have good medical coverage. Everytime there is a new disease the world totally blows it out of proportion. I remember SARS in 2003, Bird Flu, West Nile Disease... and so on and so forth. I had a lot of business in Toronto during the SARS outbreak, went back and forth a few times every month, and I never got sick. No problems here.

Yeah! you know what, I have to travel by plane last week and i got this weird feeling in my throat and Ive got a minor cold. So i was worried I would get a fever because i know the airport security would be suspicious of passengers with fever and cough, so i took vitamins a day before my flight and i drank a lot of water. i was really afraid i would be detained for being suspected of having h1n1. Fortunately, i got well the day of my flight and everything went right.

I haven't been able to travel for financial reasons for ten years. The question of whether or not I wear a mask doesn't apply to me. I haven't been to an airport in a long time so I don't know if they're wearing them in this country or not. Kathy.

Hi Youless.
Hope you have a nice trip in Hainan. I just got back from Shanghai. I saw some of the people wear masks in the airport and airplane. But most of them do not wear mask. I will say, 98% of the people haven't wear mask. There is 1 H1N1 in Guangzhou now, so you are flying from Sanya back to GZ then transfer from GZ to somewhere, you'd better perpare some masks with you. Just in case. Have a nice day!

I don't wear the mask when I travel at present, but I have noticed that some people do so in some public places. Presently, there is no discovered cases in my city but that doesnt mean there is no potential patients here. It is a horrible disease and killed millions of people once in the history. However, I have confidence in today's technology and do believe that people will conqure this disease in the near future.
