I've been fortunate to have very few but at the same time very good friends who have been with me through good and bad. We've laughed and cried together and stood by each other at times of need. With a couple of them i've been on a number of holidays together. What i've appreciated too about them is thier openess and frankness. Correcting me when i'm wrong and guiding me when required. my friend now stays in the u.s. .we were very close but now with family responsibilities,we donot have much contact but still it feels very beautiful to have a special day for friendship.

Do you mean closest geographically or closest spiritually? How about I invite you to go bike riding with me instead. We'll pack bag lunches with sandwiches and cold drinks, cheese, nuts, and chips, and as we pass friend's houses, we'll stop and ask them if they would like to come along. How's that?

Sadly, just about everyone I know is through the internet. I have lived in the same town for 5 years, but have never been able to get to know anyone. Public transport here doesn't exactly exist, I don't have a driver's license and taxi's cost way too much to use all the time, so getting any where means having to wait until my partner is able to take me out. The friends I have made online though, are people I would spend all day with if I could.

I didn't know about this day, if it wasn't from a good friend in India that texted me and greeted me. I am so happy that even though we're both in a different country and we probably talking to each other just few times a year, she never forget such special days and I feel bad, because I do sometimes. I doubt a hug is worth a thousand words. Maybe you meant a picture. I can't image 1000 ways of saying Hi. But friendships are good. I was taught that when you get older and older it is harder and harder to say how many good and close friends you have in one simple palm. That is as serious as it gets. When you are young you allow people to enter and go as they please. Do we call those beautiful friendships? But when you get older and parties go by and occassions are set. It is only to our need to know who is honest and who is not. And as friends credibility and reliability is the key. And finding that out takes time to discover. I do have good beautiful friendships. I may not be there for years but they are always there as a great friend and I've grown up in the neighborhood with them and also went to school with them. It is a relationship that was developed through the years and not merely based on similar interest. Because if that was it, we can simply log onto social networks and find those people. My good friend are all different and we all get a long. We are all uniquely different and share very different interests. The only interest we have in common is the lifetime we have spent together. Ive known this guy since i was born. We never really became close friends until 5th grade though. Ever since then we never seperated. We did everything together and started several bands. Whenever we would be a part our family or other friends would always ask us where the other was. We were just that close. Our strong friendship lasted till our freshmen year in college where we some reason just randomly stopped talking for no reason at all. We continued this way talking at the most once every few months for over a year. Recently though weve started talking more over the past month... not sure on the future, but just giving an example of why you shouldnt take anything or anyone for granted. You can live your life perfect and in an instant, everything can change for no reason what so ever.

Is today the Friendship Day ? i am so happy to have some real friends around . They are so nice to me and of course i'm treating them very well. People just cann't be alone in this world and it's hard to survive by oneself. We need love , wishes prayers, help from our friends .

I just graduate from the university and I always memorize the days that my friends and I spent together. I wish all of them will have a bright futher! I love all of them.
