Life in the City or Village? Which is more preferable? Why?

Dear people, Most of us are living in the city; may be a cosmopolitan or a metropolitan. May be once in a month or on some vacations we used to visit village atmosphere with a little enjoyment in our farmhouses and so on. Now tell me, What is your favorite or preferable place? Are you adapted to city life or can you live in a village area. Will you be comfortable when you are off from your busy schedule... I am very much likely to go and live in a village area... I love to be with nature as my city is a polluted one with lot of traffic, hot climate, dust and lot more disgusting stuffs. It is a machine life. I really want to breathe some fresh air.. How about you? How long can you live in a village area? Can you live without some new technologies, busy schedule, a machine life? Please share your thoughts on this.... Cheers... Have a nice day always...

I live in a city right now, and I enjoy it, but there are definitely some major downsides, such as crime, pollution, over-industrialization, etc. I've never lived in a "village" (we generally don't have "villages" where I live anyway - we mainly have rural, urban, and suburban areas - rural meaning out in the country/farmland). If living in a village means being far from technology, I guess I would rather not live there. I love technology, and while sometimes I wish life were more simple..well, this is the 21st century we're talkin' about! lol.

Dear maezee, Really that's well said. In our country, we used to say rural areas as village. Only urban and rural. I just said village because it is far away from technology.. Anyway, your suggestion is great.. We can't live without technologies. But due to over population rate here, we are living in polluted, high traffic and hot climate. It is miserable.. But we need to work for money right?... Anyway.. thanks for responding to this discussion... Have a nice day always... Cheers....

life in the city is definitely much more enjoyable than life in a village ,however life in the village remains much more secured and pure than life in the city, the life in the city is for hustling and trying to make some money while life in the village is for relaxation and seeing some old folks

I think I would prefer to live in the village where it is alot quieter and more peaceful. I hate the sounds of a noisy city. We moved to the country for peace but it is hard to get here at times also.

I live in a village in the countryside, and I like living here. My husband and I moved here about a year ago, and it took me a while to get used to living in the countryside, because I grew up in a city with lots of shops, restaurants, pubs, cinemas, schools, libraries etc. In our village there is a supermarked, but we need to drive to the nearest town if we want to buy clothes, eat at a restuarant or use the library, but it is not a big problem as long as we have a car. Our village is very peaceful compared to the city, there is less pollution, and we live close to the sea. I enjoy living here and I don't miss my life in the city.

Dear Phillip, I am not get used to stay in a village. I was grown up in a metropilitan city and has get used with the lifestyle. My grandparents is staying in a small village at my town. I used to pay them a visit when they are stil alive. But I seldom overnight that their house as I am not get used to the village lifestyle. I prefer to stay in high space city with new technologies. Although it may sound stressful, at least time will past faster. Once a while, I don't mind to visit a village for some fresh air,but to stay in a vilalge for long term, I am not able to make it.

I like both City life and village life. The one reason for city life is that i can make career . I live in Bangalore, India where this city has improved in infrastructure , more and more IT companies coming . Village life i would prefer only on vacations to relax. Village nature is beautiful. That's the reason i like village life.

Niether! Country girl all the way! No people, just the wilderness and animals...that's what I prefer. I manage to stay constantly busy as well...with or without technology (the most tech I usually use is maybe the oven, the radio, a lamp, and the computer xD and I can live just fine without those). I rarely touch the television even once a week. (Even a village has people)

Dear xParanoiax, Ha,.. Really a different response. Wonderful to have your open thoughts here. Really appreciate it... If you have a good mind set to live without technology we really can enjoy our life to the most... Cheers... Have a nice day

hi phillip well as long as I have my computer, router, and monitor have all these will travel I might like a smaller citybut not a tiny village as I need medical care and easy shopping and a way to'buy foodand all the rest. no just a small city not a small town. too few outlets for the things I need. I grew up on a farm near a small twon at that time it was fine but not now.

My fiance and I live in a rural area... We love the country air, and atmosphere all around. I used to live in another county that was bigger then the one I am in now, the county I used to live in had city, and a lot of people were not polite. A lot were, but even so a lot weren't. Now I live in the country and everyone is pleasant... It's also a beautiful place to live and breathe in air. I don't want to go back to the city, so in response to your question, YES I'D RATHER STAY HERE! I'm always looking for new ways to be frugal, so if you know of any PM me.

i grew up in a barrio or village that became a city in my growing up years and chose to live in a village or barrio, though near a city, when i got married. the simplicity of life there is peaceful and more conducive to my liking than the hustle and bustle of the never seem to sleep city.

Hello, Phillip. I grew up in the City and still at the same city until now. I love visiting my family's farm every weekend and or holiday because I love nature so much and i love their simple life. But,staying for good, I can't tell. Maybe at first it will be harder for me to adjust but as we grow old we appreciate living in a quiet world and away from traffic jams and busy life in the city.

Dear simonelee, Nice to see you here. really we can spend our last days in the village but we cannot spend there in our younger days as we are accustomed to the city and it is well said... Cheers... Have a wonderful day...

I grew up in a province and I should say I had a pretty good life there. It was laid-back, fresh air and beautiful refreshing natural sceneries, with a lot of friends and relatives, less pollution and oh yes, no traffic. I live in the city now and this is where I work for a living, and I have actually adapted to the city life quite well. But if I can have my job in the village, I'd still choose to live there because I want an environment that's close to nature - for my kids.

Dear doryvien, Really kids like village life more than a city atmosphere. If the study facilities are good in the village it is really a great thing to live there... Thanks for responding to this discussion... Cheers... Have a nice day always...

I love the village, countryside too.. however I don't think I can lived there at the current moment. Now, I still prefer the city as I could get what I needed, and wanted. I don't mind having a holiday of 2 weeks, without my computer or internet connection, without my usual coffee and other, but now living in that situation for long. I think i could only settle in the village once I am retired, which I no longer chasing after monetary items and just wish to sit back and relax. At that point, I think I could be in a better position to live in the village.

Hi. I prefer to live in a city or very close to it. But I love to go on holidays to a small village! It´s nice to get away sometimes from the noise and pollution of all kinds, even though I need the city to survive!

I live in a town where as there are alot more shops and jobs in a town rather that of a village, buses are easy to get as well as a hospital and drs as well as the dentist where as in a villiage you would have to drive to get there unlike here you could walk.I used to live in a village when i was younger,it is ok if you are a small child but not when you are in your teens.

We lived in the subdivision for almost 20+ years, and there has been a lot of changes here. before it was all house and residence but recently it has become more of a city, filled with crazy people and beggars, because of the business establishments that has been built in here.

I prefer ..in both side..because.. in city...there is many types of facility...that is not available in village.. and you can get good job in city..and make your life as you want...so that is available only in the city..but there is something different in the village..who you do not find in the city...there is in the village..you find fresh air, green atmosphire , green field, and many good thing's who are healthy for your body.. but you don't find these things in the city...

i love to spend most of my time in cities because of their infrastructures and lots of oppurtunities for living but going to villages in somevacations would always be veryspecial because of fresh countryside air,no pollution and friendly people all around
