I used to chat to my friends online all the time, but i found i had never done all the things i wanted to do as they would never go they would keep me online all the time, until i just went off line.I now find that it is easier to talk on the phone as then they do tend to go quicker as i say there is someone at the door.Better than saying i have got to go then just go off line.

Like you, I used to talk to friends online quite a lot. But it was very time consuming and I avoid it now. I do talk online to my online business partner, but thats all. I prefer to send emails to keep in touch with my friends, nbot phone calls, as some people talk too much!!

I find that there are alot of people out there that are like me now and all we do is stay off line as it saves soo much time.I do have people that call my home phone aswell as my mobile and all they seem todo is keep me on the phone and all they talk about is a lot of rubbish and i do feel like i am being held on the phone for no good reason at all.

i too go invisible when i feel that i will be disturbed and then i do my work comfortably...in between i took 2-3 months to earn on mylot..just becoz of too much sites sharing and all those stuffs..now i decided to stick to some limited sites and work hard on them to get enough..even we don't have time to attend all that we have joined..so why to go for new and new every time....already i am too busy with my forex 5 days a week.. so i too remain invisible...

I think that there are alot of people out there that think we have nothing better to do.Alot of people just used to turn up as well knowing that i was in as well as knowing that i was going to be wanting to do things where as it seemed to me that they never had anything to do themselves.I try to get all the things that i have to do done of a morning as that way it leaves the afternoon as well as the evening free for all the other things that i want to do.When i go to my msn email address i also go on there as in put myself as off line that way i never get interupted.

I'm not much for chatting online either. I have too many family and friends who have nothing better to do than hang out on the computer all day. So, I keep myself invisible when I'm reading my mail on AOL and when I'm on facebook. I've had some complaints from folks who see me update my status on facebook but can't chat but I just tell them to call me on the phone. I have a house phone and a cell so it's not hard to reach me.

I think that there are alot of times where as all i want to do is go to my emails on msn to see what emails that i have and all of a sudden there will be loads of people trying to chat,so now what i do is i turn it off so that they do not know that i am on there.

I just call them now, as it is a lot easier and also find it is faster to reply to them rather than trying to type and then loads of friends all want to chat all at the same time online

Hi! I disabled the IMs and it solved that problem. Now we still get in touch, but when I have time...

I don't have any idea what your question or reason for posting this was. I usually chat online for awhile when I meet someone and then we talk on the phone after awhile. I don't go online to chat until late in the evening and I don't talk very long usually. Not every night either.

I am glad you told me that because I have been hearing that excuse a lot but I always believed that it was an honest excuse I guess I will now have to think twice about the sincerity of such excuses. In addition I may also use that excuse when I am with someone who I cant seem to get away from

I too used to spend a lot of time chatting online, but I don't do it nearly as much anymore. In fact, my online chatting all but stopped when my favorite instant messenger was discontinued by its maker. I tried a couple of other programs for instant messaging and none of them were nearly as good as the one that I'd been using in the past so when I got a new computer, I didn't even install an instant messenger on it. Yes, I do miss some of the people that I spent a lot of time talking to, but in the long run I think it is better for me.

I always chat online with my friends. I do not have long distance on my phone nor do I have a cell phone right now. The economy has hit my husband and I hard and we do not have the money for the luxeries such as a cell phone. I am hoping to make money on here and am also hoping to find a job anywhere. I have had no luck finding work and I know people say the economy is looking good, but I do not see any improvements at all. For my husband and I it is getting worse. We have a power bill that keeps going up every month and the power company will not do anything to help us out. I keep my thermastat to zero and use almost no power at all and we still get chareged 400 a month. If I do not chat with my friends online I would go absolutely crazy because they would be worried about me.

It depends. Before I would prefer to talk online but now I use more the phone or text messages. I would probably use more the computer if I had the time, but in my current situation I'm not that long in front of it, neither my friends to, so I went back to how I was in the past and use the phone again.

I find that it is nicer aswell as easier if you talk to a person, but i hate talking for ages to anyone, especially if you are finding it hard to find things to talk about to each other. Also if you have caller display then you can choose if you want to talk to the person or if you want to call them later on,bonus having an answer machine.

If you wish to talk to people online. That is your choice, but if you do you have to take control. Its no different then on the phone. If your friends are really your friends, and you have to say got to go, they should understand. I often have to do it all the time. I don't let the online world dictate my actions. That's what you have to do. Take control of your life. Your friends will understand. I love to chat all the time, but I also know when to break away. Learn to do the same and you'll be fine.

I now set it to off line on the msn as i find that saves me time, aswell as i do not feel bad for just going off line.I find that there are days that people will ring me to about nothing really, also all those sales people that also keep you on the phone,so i look at my caller display to see whos calling as that way i do not have to answer if i do not want to.

I don't mind chatting online as it's alot cheaper since most of my friends are some distance away from here. But usually they have kids too so it's not a continous conversation it's a sentance here and there then a reply. Nothing too crazy like you get online I imagine.

The cheapest source or method of communication is through internet. People do stay longer when it as to do with chatting online.

I chat with my friends only when I have to much free time and is a good way to forget about problems. It`s true sometime I forget about time, but look on the good side that way I don`t think about food and I loose some pounds.
