I am 60 years old. People say ladies may face osteoporosis and they should take calcium daily. Hence I am taking calcium tablet daily one. But some people say I should not take it daily and it will create some stones. Can you tell me whether it is ok if I take calcium tablet daily or should I stop it?

This discussion is 2 years old, means you are 62+ now, my wife is running 60, she takes calcium tablets regularly after she had her menopause, but doctors advised to take calcium with vitamin D only, this helps in absorption of calcium better, well you better use it continously..
Best of luck.

Calcium can cause stones in some people but not all people. My husband has a condition where calcium can contribute to building kidney stones in his body. But not everyone is like that. For most people taking a daily calcium supplement is the right thing to do and good for their bodies. If you are concerned you should get a physical from your doctor and your doctor will be able to give you a full read out of what your body is lacking in and what your body has too much of. It is pretty interesting to see and by viewing that and going over it with your doctor you will learn what supplements you should and should not be taking according to your own personal body read out.

Whether you should take a calcium tablet daily or not only a doctor can tell you. Because people around you may tell you what they feel or what they think and it may be right or may be not but only their assumption. So regarding the intake of any tablets or medicines, you must consult a qualified physician who will guide you in the correct path

you can develop calcium stones, only if they arent metabolized by the body properly. take them in the morning so that your body can work with it and use it throughout the day. there are different preparations per age group, you have to be taking in the correct daily amount based on your needs. drink lots of water throughout the day. our body needs water to speed things up, so it's better to refuel and replenish the stores... happy myotting!
