Yes, Yes I know I'm supposed to have quit this site, but let me admit that it's kind of addicting! In any case, I have a question for everybody. Americans, and for lack of a better word, foreigners alike, if you were to be told or have been told that Fast Food is Unhealthy for you, would you honestly quit eating it? Would you lessen your consumption of it? Would you try to opt for the "healthier" foods on the menu? What is your favorite fast food restaurant?

I do worry myself over what I'm actually eating now, but oh subway is the best. They make the food right there, and it's delicious and nutritious, provided you don't eat too much bread.

Who does not know that fast food is not good for you? I dont think people stopped eating it. THis holds true for everything - every thing in moderation.

Well I know that it's a well known fact - or at least it should be. But more and more is being told about fast food each day. I recently heard on t.v. somewhere that even foods we buy at the stores could be lying to us... I forget where, or I'd post a link, but if I find one I will.

Processed food is questionable, but convenient. I have some stores I prefer for my meat and my fresh produce. I love the variety and convenience of frozen vegetables that have nothing added to them, but I also know I am going to work hard at having a garden this year. The closer you live to where your food comes from the healthier you are, because they do not lose food value in transport and you can see how they are raised.

Well we pretty much have been told that it is unhealthy. If you are really careful though and do your homework there is usually something at each of these restaurants that is not to terrible. I eat fast food from time to time. Not very often though, but occasionally as a treat or if things are really busy. I think anything in moderation is fine and as long as you only eat it on rare occasions it's fine. It is people that eat it all the time who are who will be risking their health. I like McDonalds, and a I like Popeys Fried Chicken the best.

When i was living with my grandparents we constantly had fast food, my grandmother just stopped cooking. I was so happy when I moved in with my husband and his parents, and I've learned how to cook a few things now too. Hehe, but they don't cook all the time, but more so then my grandparents do. The internet is your friend, I usually go to the fast food restauraunts website and check the nutrition facts to see what has the most fat, and most calories, etc.

I know mylot is addicting especially since it actually pays unlike other sites that we both have recently done and I know people always say fast food is unhealthy because it is since it has a lot of grease in it,and I have tried to cut back on my fast food consumption even though I still eat it and probably always will, and I do try to eat more Subway, and I would not bother opting for healthier foods on the menu because it would do no good, and I would say my favorite fast food place would probably be McDonald's because I have always liked eating there, and they have the McDouble, the best french fries, and the awesome dollar menu,I love you with all of my heart and soul.

Definitely always opt for healthier foods. Trying to cut down on fast foods all the time. Trying to teach my kids about healthier foods as well. Hard to do I am afraid. My favorite restaurant is Burger King, Jack In the BOx and Wendy's. And the local ones we have here as well. They make the best!

I rarely eat at our fast food places - we do have KFC and Burger KIng. I would eat from one of our cook shops that cook local food. It is cheaper and healthier as minimal fat used in cooking. If i did have a hamburger I do not have mayonnaisse and try to keep it a bit healthy. KFC is awful to me as it is pure fat.and I am trying to lose weight. Gladto see that you haven't eally left us!

Cynthi, I can't stay away! The stress that I found by being on this site, I've found off this site as well so I guess I'm just a stressful person. Being here actually helps, and I'm making myself just go with my own pace and not try to do too much here. I've turned notifies off too.. but on to what you've said... I love KFC, and Burger King's Original Chicken Sandwich! Yum! I also like Mcdonalds, but I know how fattening the stuff is as atleast Mcdonalds and I think Burger King as well, we'll put nutrition facts on their stuff. I actually brought this question up because I was busy cleaning but listening to something on t.v. and it said that even things we buy in the grocery store could not be the actual nutrition facts. That is, it could be more calories, or more fat, or the ingredients, could just be unhealthy. I love watching Dr. Oz as well because he really seems to tell you the truth. He's a cardiac Surgeon I think? Well in anycase doctoroz.com if you wanna check him out.

I'am fully aware and I know everybody, that eating on those fastfood is quite unhealthy, but still we're craving for it.. simply because it satisfy our taste bud for good tasting food, and of course when we eat or if we see a food, we people in nature never ask if it's healthy or not.. Our first question is always, How's the taste of it?, Is it Good? And so on.. few people care about on the nutrition facts.. if it's healthy or not. But as time go on, it's good to know that there are some fastfood resto who is responsible enough in minimizing the fats or sugar on their menu, without sacrifing the taste. And personally speaking, I can't say that I'm on all out war in lessening my addiction on those FastFood hub around the corner, i'm just being more responsible enough I guess on my eating habbit. And fave fastfood!.. Here in Manila, We are all Shouting for KFC and it's GRAVY!.. Yummmmmmy!:-)

I don't really need to be told anything about the healthiness of fast food. I mean that is just common sense.

Oh,I feel the Amerpast few years is not a very good grasp of health roblems, especially obesity, eating too well, but it should also pay attention to healthy eating.

Yes we should all pay attention and eat healthier foods. Just because they say it's healthy doesn't mean it truly is. Some people may do better with a low calorie diet while others a low carbohydrate, it's all about what your body needs!

I dont eat out much , mostly home cooking in my family. I would have to say yes one of the reasons i dont eat out at fast food places much is because of the health concerns. Other reasons for not eating out is its expensive for larger families to go out to eat at fast food places. I do like Subway Sandwhichs but there to when i get to go there i pick a healthy type sandwhich low in fat. I think my family is alittle more into picking healthy choices then some families are.

...Hi there SomeCowgirl, When did you give notice that you were leaving and why? Fast food places are a part of the culture of man. McDonald's and Burger King's are everywhere. I love McDonald's french fries. They do offer salad's now, so you have an option. Add to that, the fact that people have less money to spend on healthy food and not a lot of time or incentive to cook for themselves, you have a recipe for mass obesity, and unhealthy people. It's quick and we have been conditioned, like a lot of other societal ills, to just say "yes". It's a fight, and fast food is winning, and we are not losing, the weight that is. "o) Take care. Stay put!

Oh so I see! That you're still here. That's great! I know fast food is not good, but sometimes you just can't help it. I still get days where I would crave for a particular hamburger. Last week is an example, I craved for one of those burgers that has a bacon on it. I went to Wendy's twice last week! But my favorite is Jack in the Box(I think), for their Sourdough burger.

Do not put so much presure on your mind. We all know that the fried chicken is not as healthy as the other which is cooked from boil or other healthier ways. When I was in China,we always cook at home,so we can eat healthy.Actually, sometimes we went to the KFC,but our main idea is to chat with others, not eat.I think eat which kind of thing is an attitude of life,so if you think you can live better without or lessen the consumption of fast food, then you will make a big change, but if you think it does not matter to eat them, and your life now is very happy and will continue happy, just do it.Leave the pressure

Your right, it's about the pressure as well. Fast food isn't healthy but it should be our decision and not that of the media, though the media does give us insight on some foods and other things we may have actually thought was healthy. For the most part it's common sense to know that fast food ='s unhealthy.

I love McDonald's, just adore it and could eat there every day; in fact I ate there once a week for years - to be honest never had a problem. Now, I have not had any fast food for over a year; my wife is a healthy-bio-organic food "freak" and we had an arguement and I told her I could stop eating burgers and stuff for a year (I guess I won that bet!). I miss it but I have not had a crisis so far ... sure I'd love to have a Big Mac (and I probably will soon!), but the same way I functioned before I function now. I must say, though, fastfood was only a "treat", I work out regularly and have a healthy home-cooked diet so (from my point of view) fast food is fine as long as you are moderate, do some physical activity and just take care of yourself. I mean, you could eat "normal" food and worsen your health with wrong habits! So just think what you're doing, that's all - you certainly can't base your diet on fast food, but I don't think it'll harm you - here and there!

Hubby prefers real eating out with dishes and silverware to fast food, he says, but he is quick to run go get some if I say I will enjoy it with him. I have really reduced how much fast food I eat, but the weight from it is not so quick to peel off. We really limit soft drinks, at restaurants and home. I do not like fries, more than to eat one or two, so I am saving there. When I am being health conscious I will get something like a topped potato at Wendy's, and I will also usually order a sandwich with out cheese, and no white sauces. If you count Subway as fast food, I would choose it, or maybe Quiznos. Both have excellent sandwiches with lots of veggies. Other than that, I would say Arby's, love the thinly sliced roast beef, and horseradish sauce even though it is mayo based. Side dish favorite is onion petals. I do enjoy their jamocha shakes, but I have not had one in over a year. Right now I am not enjoying getting out of the house because the cold makes my foot hurt.

Actually we have lessened it because we can't afford to go out to eat very much since I've been a SAHM. However, when we do go out we feel it & taste it later... YUCK! Plus since we eat at home mostly alot of times the fast food just doesn't agree w/ our bodies. Though we do go out to a local buffet that has more home cooked foods. I don't care for the healthier options, as if you call a salad w/ a fried cut up chicken patty healthy why not just eat a plain salad? Plus I could make it at home for half the cost. My fav fast food restaurant is Burger King.

Anything that pleases my mouth, stomach and pocket. There are many out there tempting ones but if it is totally unhealthy I don't give a second look.
